This is backdated post from my Berlin trip when I went all nuts on Kunefe which is a traditional middle eastern dessert. It is made from a pastry that is kind of vermicelli like called kataifi soaked with a syrup called attar & typically has cheese inside & then you eat with ice cream, clotted cream or just plenty of roasted pistachio. This place is so authentic among all the ones we have tried that we actually went back twice (one late night before our flight back), it gave the whole new meaning of what amazing pistachio means.
They roasted it to perfection & I even bought some home which was one of my best buy in Berlin. The kunefe here as you can see w plenty of the crushed & roasted pistachio, the syrup and the crisp of the pastry was on point & at perfect ratio, served hot w a Turkish tea on a cold winter night is a great way to end a memorable night.
When we were there, it was all locals, enjoy the travel quirks of getting across what you want in a different language and enjoy the kunefe.

Read moreI wrote my original review around 6 years ago. I used to come often here and eat Künafe. Since Covid-19 i did not have a chance. A month ago, I came with a guest friend but I was very surprised of the bad taste of Künafe. The quality, amount, and taste of the cheese were so disappointing and bad to extend I lost the desire to come here anymore. It is really insane that they charge your for the Künafe more that what they used to charge (2 Künafe and 2 small Tee for almost 20 EUR) but they worsen the quality at the same time. I gave them 5 stars with my original review but now I change it to only 1 star.
Original review: I usually come to eat Künefe which is unbelievely tasty here. It tasts as delicious as the one in Istanbul. The Turkish tea is another beautiful story here: it is indeed superb. The cleanliness of the place and of the toilet is also noticeable. The staff is friendly. Definitely...
Read moreI recently visited Sönmez Baklava and have mixed feelings about my experience. On one hand, the baklava was really good and definitely worth trying. However, the service left something to be desired. While we were enjoying our food and drinks, the staff seemed very anxious and eager to clear our plates and cups as soon as they were empty, which made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Additionally, after they finished clearing our table, some of the staff members sat close to us and spent a lot of time on their phones, which detracted from the overall atmosphere of the place.
Overall, I would recommend Sönmez Baklava for their delicious baklava, but be aware that the service may not be as relaxing or enjoyable as you might hope for. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat and don't mind a bit of hustle and bustle, this could be a great spot...
