UMI x Gendai No Kaishaku Restaurant — Restaurant in Berlin

One of my favorite asian fusion restaurants in wedding and all of Berlin. The ambiance of the place is so cozy, with a lot of plants around and florescent bulbs & the lamp on each dining table also changes color, I find this so cool. I visited this place at least 3 times this year with work as well as my friends. We were always seated quickly and the food came quick, warm and fresh. They have really good alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails, I would almost certainly recommend the Moscow Mule and Lycheelicious. They have so many starters, which I would recommend ordering a bunch and sharing. Taco Maco, Gyoza, Summer rolls, Edmame and Yakitori sticks are a must. For the mains, they are all served with fresh InFarm herbs. I would recommend Ocean bowl, InFarm curry, shake Don. I tried the katsu sixtfive, but I felt that the chicken was mostly just the crust, and wouldn't order it again. The sushi isn't the best here at least for my own taste, it has a very good representation but definitely not your common ingredients so it tastes different. I have a few comments about this place which are my reason behind the 4 stars. Huge fan of the Tofu Curry here. Regularly ordering it as my own comfort food. Yesterday, however, it happened to be a very bitter dish. Unwillingly to discuss the topic, as returning food to the kitchen is not usually a good idea anywhere, we decided to have it packed up and bring it home. When paying, we were "tipshamed" by the waiters, who maliciously and ironically said "Wie Schade" when I clicked for my non-German speaking girlfriend that we would not tip. The “be nice or — leave” sign is STOLEN from artist Tory Dipietro, they did not ask permission to use this copyrighted work, they ignore all of her requests that they remove it, refuse to give any credit or payment to the original artist. I wouldn’t want to eat at a place that treats people so poorly and thinks it’s okay to steal the work of others. If you have time to call and complain directly to management, please do it, and give the original artist a follow if you think the sign is cool.
