When in Berlin, make the time to stop here. Could have spent hours here, but got a great amount of info within the 1.5 hours I was here. Loved talking to our host, as he spoke english, knew a LOT of history, and had an answer for every question. Some cool artifacts and authentic pieces. Small, and private, so there is no government support. The employees are volunteers. Make sure to bring some cash to donate!

It's a unique experience! I was very surprised by the history of this private museum and the powerfulness of its message. Mr Ernst Friedrich was an amazing human being and his family & continuators have my deepest respect. Also, the staff (mostly volunteers as I understood) is very friendly with visitors. Greetings from Greece! The sculpture in front of the museum:

An impressive little museum with a rich story behind dating back a century, a very deep exhibit about the consequences of war and armed conflict and the most kind of guides to help non german speaking visitors to get the most out of the visit. Highly recommended.

Visited this small, suburban, museum on a weeknight about 5pm. Spent about 90 minutes there reading and viewing information relating to the founding of the museum (in 1925), and the various anti-war, and then anti-Nazi, groups in Germany. Also information on war bombing and bomb shelters with a 1940s shelter in the basement. The main exhibition room of the museum has translations into English for all the panels, which threw lots of light on the very real anti-war and anti-Nazi movement in Germany through the 1930s and 40s. Well...

I went to see the museum yesterday and I am really thankful I did! The museum is small but full of objects from all over the world. We went to the basement and it really gets you chills down your spine, it's really impressive! The entry is free but you can leave a offer. All the descriptions of the items are both in German and in English so everyone can get something! The museum is small but really worth a visit if...
