Osteria In Piazza — Restaurant in Boppard

The waiter was very friendly and polite, but apart from that our experience was negative; we would not go back and we do not recommend it. My pasta with salmon came with a dead fly on top of it. The waiter was embarrassed about this, but had no problems to charge full price for the dish. The place claims to have authentic Italian food and calls itself an "Osteria" but this is not correct. The evaluation of 4.9 is wrong and overly optimistic (I wonder how many friends of the owner evaluated it). The food is below average, it is not authentic at all, and the cook is not Italian. My wife ordered a house salad which apparently had leftover pieces of Caesar salad in it. We asked for a "Prosecco" and the waiter said they have it but that was NOT a prosecco. It was a sparkling wine from another region of Italy, not Valdobbiadene. In the end, this place is not honest nor trustworthy in our view. As usual, we never take advantage of mistakes. We...

The genuine kindness of the Staff at this restaurant is absolutely unsurpassed! The manager is a gentleman, and he will make sure your experience in this excellent Osteria is relaxing and extremely pleasant. Food is prepared expertly by Chef's who have trained and worked in Sicily, and so the attention to detail and flavour, the procurement of only the best ingredients is apparent, when you taste for the first time.
