Ristorante Pizzeria Schnuggel-Elsje — Restaurant in Boppard

I hate giving a poor review. Especially when the food is really good.

It was a Wednesday night and we were clearly an inconvinience to the waitress. It was a slow night with only 2 other tables that had guests at it. We asked if we could sit upstairs and they told us no because it was for reservations. Not another person or group walked in after us. We have traveled in Europe enough not to expect service with the speed or enthusiasm we get in the States and we are OK with that. Again though it was clear we were an inconvinience and were not really welcome.

The food was really good. Between the 4 of us we all had different dishes and enjoyed each other's.

The bill came and while a bit expensive on the whole was not too bad. The killer though was that when I gave the woman the money she said thanks and turned and left. She never counted out the change or even offered it. She just assumed that she gets a tip because we are American. Not because of the level of service (in this case lack of quality service) provided.

Very frustrating experience. We had planned on going back to try more food, but now will not.

We ate here this week but were disappointed by what we expected. The menu is not really traditional Italian and while that’s okay they don’t really give a good twist of their Italian interpretation. I had a pasta with pieces of beef the beef was way overcooked and chewy the people who had pizza weren’t really satisfied either the dough was way to chewy and hard. Wir waren wegen dem Geburtstag unserer Oma dort essen. Ich war das erste Mal dort und dachte mir wegen den Bewertungen, dass es ein Hammer Restaurant sein muss. Die Bedienung war nett und hilfsbereit, genauso wie die Angestellten von der Eisdiele. Das war’s dann aber auch schon.

Punkt 1: Die Preise sind unverschämt hoch. Für 2 kleine Schnitzelstücke mit literweise Pilz Rahmsauce OHNE Beilage 20€. Ich musste mir die Pommes für supergünstige 6€ dazu bestellen. Zu einem Schnitzel gehört Pommes einfach dazu, ebenfalls ein Salat Leute. In Restaurants wie in der Weltstadt Bamberg bekommt man eine ganze Haxe mit Soße Pommes oder Klößchen und einem riesigen Humpen Bier für 25€.

Die Sauce war dann auch eine Fertigsauce, denn von Fertigsaucen bekomme ich starken Durchfall, den ich dann auch nach dem Essen hatte.

Punkt 2: Das Ambiente sowohl in der Eisdiele als auch im eigentlichen Schnuggelelsje Haus, schön, jedoch extrem sanierungsbedürftig. Die Toilette fällt regelrecht auseinander. Von der Straße aus kann man, wenn die Fenster der Küche offen sind sehen, wie auch schon die Decke dort am weggammeln ist.

Punkt 3: Leben wie damals, auch hier kennt man sowas wie Kartenzahlung mal wieder nicht. Mit ca. 10 Leuten hat die Abrechnung dann auch mal 20-30 Minuten gedauert weil man erst das Kleingeld zum Wechseln aus der eigenen Handtasche kramen musste. Nach Person 5 wusste man dann auch gar nicht mehr wer was bezahlt hat. Warum tut man sich das immer noch mit diesem Bargeld in den Restaurants an???! Kartenzahlung ist doch viiiiel einfacher und kann doch gar nicht so teuer sein?
