Ristorante Al Dente — Restaurant in Brandenburg an der Havel

We had carried out a google search on places that provide takeaway that had good reviews. This place was what came out tops for us. Whilst visiting the beautiful country of Germany for only 2 days at this point, it was very clear that you need to speak German! Thankfully, i had been swotting my German for the last 6 months. Anyway, whilst we didn't sit in/out for our meals, we ordered a takeaway of pizza. They refused to take card payments, only accepting cash. When asked if they spoke English (we asked in German), the reply was "No!" ?!? So we ordered in German, but he continued to talk over whilst I read out the numbers in German. There was, however, a very kind member of staff behind the bar who happily spoke some English and was very hospitable to us whilst we waited for the order. Cannot fault the food that was ordered, it was "lecker"!! Would I recommend this place for eating out? Yes, but I got the impression strongly that they do not like English speaking folks. Maybe I should have spoken...

I was genuinely surprised by how authentic and delicious the Italian cuisine is at Al Dente, especially considering it’s located in the German town of Brandenburg. The restaurant offers a true taste of Italy, and it quickly became one of my favorite spots.

The Aglio e Olio pasta stands out with its simplicity and rich flavor, and the Italian pizza is as close to the real thing as you can get without being in Italy. Every bite felt like a quick escape to a cozy trattoria in Rome or Naples.

The staff are incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The owner is always smiling and kind, creating a wonderful vibe in the restaurant. To top it all off, I received a complimentary dessert on the house, which truly touched me and added a personal, thoughtful touch to the experience.

Wir waren zu fünft und dachten einen schönen Abend bei leckerem Essen zu haben. Ich bin wirklich keine Meckerin, aber so etwas habe ich noch nicht erlebt. Getränke kamen nach 20 min, okay damit konnten wir noch leben. Nach dem unsere Essenbestellung aufgenommen wurde, dauerte es eine geschlagene Stunde. Der Gipfel des ganzen war, das der nebenan stehende Tisch nach etwa 30 Minuten verlassen wurde und einige Minuten später plazierten sich zwei junge Damen. Deren Bestellung wurde durch einen anderen Kellner aufgenommen und diese bekamen ihr Essen und wir warteten immernoch auf unser Essen. Die eine Dame bekam Lasagne, welche ich auch bestellt hatte.🤔 Nachdem wir gefragt haben, ob sie uns verarschen wollen, ging es dann recht schnell. Fazit meine Lasagne war nur in der Mikrowelle erhitzt, jene am Nachbartisch eindeutig aus dem Salamander oder Backofen, was man am braunen Rand erkennen konnte. Zudem war meine KALT. 😬 Das essen der anderen unterschied sich nicht wirklich von einander, obwohl es unterschiedliche Gerichte waren. Die Pasta war ein Billigprodukt und nicht selbst hergestellt. Die angeblichen Schweinefiletstreifen ( kein Filet)und Hühnchenstreifen waren nicht einmal angebraten, die Champignons waren keine frischen und die Saucen schmeckten nach Maggi. Diese Gaststätte wird uns nicht wieder sehen, zumal es nicht einmal eine Entschuldigung unseres Kellners gab. Erst der zweite entschuldigte sich, was die Situation nicht besser machte. Vielleicht haben Sie zu wenig Konkurrenz, das sie es nicht nötig haben, Gäste wie zahlende Gäste zu behandeln. Wir finden es traurig, so etwas erleben zu...
