50s ville Diner GmbH — Restaurant in Chemnitz

Friday evening at 21.30, with a reservation made, was not possibile anymore to choose a table. Explanation of the service :" we are almost closing and we let seat the new clients just in front" so in front means near the exit door. Are you not feeling already welcome?!? Our reserved table was still dirty from previous clients. We felt immediately the warm American hospitality, typical of a diner. We ordered 2 burger extra chilli and bacon a juice a lemonade and a cocktail. Price 61,30 Now, my problem is not the price. Which I obviously I knew before ordering. My problem was the quality of the burger!

Both completely dry, no grill taste, no salt. The waitress continue to tell that their burger are not frozen and not precooked But for me, as cook since 18 years, it's very impossible to believe. I mean, burger that almost doesn't have any typical grill crust how could they be on the grill for so long until been totally dry?!?

Well, I could have send it back, sure! But, due to the hospitality revived, because we were there with our small child. I didn't want to discuss but just eating paying and go.

Is not the first time i came here and is not the first time I recive such dry burger. The best experience i had here at breakfast time. Just there I had a great burger like they advertise! This is making me suspicious that because the evening it's more stressful business that the day, in the kitchen are searching for short way that are for sure not matching the concept and for sure not the price.

I will definitely not giving another chance...

I like this place, it's a great place to chill, hang out, have a good time, a nice drink, and eat yourself into an unexpected food coma. Look, the first time I was here, the portion sizes snuck up on me and I was food-pregante for the rest of the day (not complaining). As a non-meat-eater I'm missing out on most of their menu but that also means I got to try out all their green-stamped dishes in a few visits. I like being there on Saturday for breakfast, it's a good time for me. So if you want to go, don't go then because I don't wanna meet you :P Seriously though, the staff is nice, they speak the usual 'little bit' of English, the food's yum, the drinks and desserts go great with the food, and it's overall an almost ten for me. What stops it from making it a 10/10 is that they don't always play 50s music and all of their TV screens are showing food-related videos on loop when instead they could focus on other parts of Americana like old movie trailers, old car ads, or even cartoons set on mute. Oh, and pro tip: the staff is always happier when you have a reservation. That being said, I show up there without a reservation constantly and they're still very nice to me and always had room (but I also avoid peak crowd times...

Wir durften gestern Abend den schrecklichsten und dreistesten Service erleben, den es kaum zu steigern gibt. Auf Grund der recht guten Rezensionen wollten wir mal wieder im Diner‘s vorbeischauen und sind extrem enttäuscht, ja sogar betrogen worden! Von vorn: wir waren zu dritt und hatten reserviert. Ich habe in den Rezensionen einen 3 Tage jungen Eintrag mit einem Bild von einem Burger mit Spiegelei gesehen. Habe diesen aber auf der Karte nicht gefunden. Also zeigte ich dem Kellner das Bild und fragte was das für ein Burger ist. Der Kellner erkannte das das Bild tatsächlich vom Diners ist sagte dann aber das es diesen Burger schon ewig nicht mehr gibt. Okay. Dann eben das Famous Steak bestellt. Gegessen, getrunken soweit okay. Da es eine halbe Stunde vor Schließzeit war drängte der Keller das wir doch bezahlen sollten. Haben wir auch gemacht. Aber es war ja noch eine halbe Stunde Zeit bis zum Ladenschluss. Also haben wir noch einen Pitcher Bier (17,50€) bestellt. Ich gab ihm 20€ für den bestellten Pitcher. Der Kellner nahm die 20€ und fragte ob wir nicht lieber 3 Flaschen Bier möchten. Immerhin ist nur noch eine halbe Stunde geöffnet. Das haben wir abgelehnt. Also ist er losgelaufen. Nach ca. 15 min wurde ich unruhig weil er nicht wiederkam und bin zur Bar gegangen. Diese wischte der Kellner gerade ab. Ich fragte wo er mit dem bestellen Bier bliebe. Da erklärte mir seine Kollegin das bereits Schankschluss ist. Da habe ich der wirklich netten Kollegin gesagt das ich das Bir vor 15 Minuten aber schon bezahlt habe und seit dem auf dem Kellner warte. Da sagte der Kellner tatsächlich das ich den bestellten Pitcher nicht bezahlt habe, ich könne ja die Kassenzettel kontrollieren. Ich war entsetzt!!! Da es jedoch insgesamt 9 Zeugen gab ( der Nachbartisch hatte alles mitbekommen) sagte der Kellner nun er dachte die 20€ die ich ihm gab wären Trinkgeld!!! Die nette Kollegin hat sich bei uns entschuldigt und von einem Missverständnis gesprochen. Aber in meinen Augen war das klarer Diebstahl und Betrug! Die Kollegin hat mir dann aus IHRER Geldbörse 17,50€ zurück gegeben. Aber es bleibt bei dem Betrug!!! Übrigens den Burger mit dem Spiegelei habe ich heute im Internet gefunden: den gibt es nach wie vor. Allerdings nur zum Frühstück. So viel zur Kenntnis des Kellners. Ich habe mal ein Bild von dem riesigen 240g Steak angehangen. Mal schauen ob...
