McDonald's — Restaurant in Cologne

The worst McDonald's I have ever visited along with the worst McDonald's expierience ever. The overall McDonald's expierience has gone down the drain over the past few years. McDonald's used to be a place where one can go to get FOOD! FAST and affordable. However as in many businesses the customer and product have lost in importance. Instead of having someone work the cash register they have opted out to setting up kiosks / order terminals, which often malfunction and take a long time to load, anyone at the register should be able to take an order quicker then any of these kiosks. The French fries 🍟 (disgrace that the emoji is red) are always half empty and this even though the prices keep going up. ... Long story short, or not. I went to McDonald's today on my lunch break, it took me about 3 minutes from my place of work. I entered saw 👀 that the place was packed especially around the register and went to the kiosk, after finally getting my big Mac menu order placed after about 3-4 minutes I stood and waited to pay, and waited and waited. While I was waiting to pay, that my order would even start to be processed, a gentleman came up to the counter and asked where his food was he had ordered 20 minutes ago. The young man working at the front of the store was clearly overwhelmed with all of these customers (obviously not a good work environment with negative effects on the overall motivation of anyone employee in such establishment) I tried to be patient but i was on my lunch break, after standing there at the counter first in line for 10 minutes I tried asking if I could pay and was brushed off with a one moment, the same 5 minutes later. This is when I looked at my watch and realized that I need to get back to work. So I left.... still had my money and my hunger, when I got back to work I smoked a cigarette to finish off my break and got back to work. I was livid thus prompting me to share this on here. Also considering 🤔 starting a Germany wide boycott on this bogus business which is in the burger / real-estate business but doesn't value its employees or customers and because they're cheap and greedy try to replace humans with IT solutions even though they making Hella margin on every one product they sell. A few tips ✨️ fill the fries 🍟 to the top , it's only potatoes and stop charging 4 euros for a half empty portion. Bring back the euro / dollar menu and get rid of these digital kiosks it's a burger shop not best buy or comp. usa. . Sincerely a hungry customer that wanted to get some lunch but instead got a long stand in a busy place where everyone was agitated. I will not be visiting this location again.

Die wohl schlechteste McDonald's-Filiale bei der ich je war. Hier wurde ich jedes Mal enttäuscht. Einen vernünftigen Ablauf im McDrive bekommt man mittlerweile seit Jahren (schon vor Corona!) nicht hin, oft funktioniert die Gegensprechanlage nicht. Kassiert wird auch meist da, wo man dann bestellt und auch das Essen bekommt, nämlich alles erst am letzten Fenster. Was nicht Sinn der Sache ist und zu laaaangen Staus führt.

Darauf vorbereitet sein, dass Gutscheine oder Coupons nicht eingelöst werden, diese Filiale nimmt nämlich nicht an allen Aktionen teil, was leider irgendwie gut ins Bild passt. Leider erfährt man das aber eben erst, nachdem man bereits eine halbe Stunde in der Autoschlange stand. Absurd.

Auffällig ist auch die unerklärliche Langsamkeit. Mit "Fast"-Food hat diese Filiale nichts zu tun. Die Probleme fingen offenbar mit der Umstellung auf das "neue System" an, wo Essen erst nach Bestellung zubereitet wird, statt wie im alten System das meiste vorzukochen und dann in einer Wärmeablage zu lagern, um es sofort zur Hand zu haben (=die Grundidee von McDonald's). Komisch, dass die Umstellung in anderen Filialen viel reibungsloser verlaufen ist.

Zur Krönung hatte ich schon mindestens vier Mal falsche Soßen oder gar das falsche Essen im Beutel oder Teile der Bestellung fehlten (zweimal wurden die Pommes beim Menü einfach vergessen). Ist ein bisschen wie Roulette. Auf jeden Fall sofort überprüfen, wenn man mutig genug ist, hier etwas zu bestellen!

Von den eigentlich praktischen Bestellkiosken mit Touchscreen im Inneren hat monatelang nur einer funktioniert, abgewischt werden die verschmierten Bildschirme offenbar ähnlich selten. Wer im Lokal zu speisen wagt, wird oft mit endlosem Dauerpiepsen (Fritteuse? Kasse?) um den Rest seines Verstandes gebracht. This McDonald's has a convenient location, I was there in the evening, and there is a large parking lot. It was dirty in the restroom and in the dining area. One of the kiosks has a broken screen. Overall, some of the decor elements show signs of vandalism. I don't know why no one seems to address this. There is quite a bit of cobwebs on the ceiling.
