We were excited for Rocca 800 for my husbands birthday given the positive rating but we were very disappointed by our visit on July 21. Firstly, the restaurant (inside and outside) was empty and there were 3-4 waitstaff for about 7 tables total that were seated. The shocking part was the staff was just chatting with each other, and it took them 15+ minutes to come over to introduce themselves and ask if we wanted drinks.
The service continued to be terrible, we had to actively get up to get the servers multiple times as they were just chatting amongst themselves (the restaurant was absolutely not busy). We had two broken glasses given to our table that needed to be replaced. The women’s bathroom was not working so everyone had to use the men’s and over the course of two hours it had not once been cleaned (see screenshots I will upload) and the paper towels were not replenished.
The food was good, but very inconsistent. 4/5 of our group ordered steak and two people had lots of salt on it and two people had a couple of flakes visible but you couldn’t taste the salt. The lack of flexibility with the sides was also surprising. The steaks come with roasted potatoes and you are not allowed to change or upgrade them. You must be served the roasted potatoes even if you don’t want them.
The decor was nicely done inside and outside, but unfortunately the atmosphere was still poor because of the lack of bathroom cleanliness and poor service.
They seem to have serious issues with staff training and frankly, a lack of respect for their customers. If you can’t keep a clean bathroom and your staff prioritizes talking to each other over customers trying to order or pay, it feels rather disrespectful. With that in mind, we won’t be returning and told the person who recommended it to us they should no longer...
Read moreI was here on a friday when it wasnt busy at all and everything was great! I went back a week later on a saturday with my husband after telling him how much i liked this restaurant. The interior, the atmosphere, the staff all was great but this time it was way more busy. We did not have to wait very long for our food unlike the table next to us who arrived a little bit after us. They still hadnt had their food at 11pm. The meat of my hamburger was icecold when it arrived and it took me a long time to call our waitress. So i told an other waiter about it but he didnt seem to care since he was working in the other area and never passed this to the waitress who was responsable for our table. 10min later i decided to go to the open kitchen myself where the manager was. He immediately handled this and another young waiter (Samir) took over and made sure we were served and happy about everything for the rest of the evening, unlike our waitress (short blond hair) who seemed to take orders at every table but never made sure the drinks/ food actually arrived. She had no overview of her orders which made that people had to wait very long for their drinks/food. As someone who has over 20y of experience as a waitress and bartender i must say the young guy Samir who was new (he told us) did a very good job in handeling the 3 situations we were complaining about. Some people are made to do this job and he certainly is...
Read moreThe restaurant is named after its high temperature oven. At 800 degrees, steaks and other red meats only take about 30 seconds, while the fat is supposedly caramelized. If you are not into red meat, no worries, you can indulge in lobster, tuna and salmon. Starter options are ample. The same goes for the wine and liquor card. You can choose from a daily, as well as a standard menu. For dessert there are a handful of creative dishes which you won't find at other restaurants. Service is fine although we had to protest to get a table for 3 due to reservations commencing 2 hours later! Credit cards, including American Express, are accepted. Our dishes were fine even though my tuna steak could have been provided with more sauce - it was a bit "dry" for my taste despite being fresh! The food was tasty nevertheless! The entire affair for 3, including a bottle of wine, a bit pricey (ca. €250...
