Overall a great evening with good food and great atmosphere!
Walked-in on a early Saturday evening without reservation and got a table right away. Even we got a table the restaurant seemed almost full with a few tables left.
Athmosphere: Good vibes, great music, people chatting and laughing. The Interior looks great, kind of in a mexican way but modern interpreted.
Now to the Food: We had the homemade nachos as a starter which were freshly made and still warm. With a side of salsa verde and guacamole - 4/5 Stars For the main course we had the beef and chicken soft tacos. Great quality corn tortillas in street style size. The taco comes in general with cheese, which is to be considered when ordering. The beef taco was flavorful and very tender. The chicken (pollo on the menu) was tender but not that flavorful. A nice grilled piece of chicken (boneless chicken tights i.e.) would be more favorable! The Red Salsa was good and fruity. To the dish you get a side salad which makes it a full meal but it‘s only just that. Nice touch: pickled onions on the taco and salad!
Overall great location to stop by and have a great night out and you want to have something different than your classic pizza & pasta, but please consider it‘s not as authentic (flavor wise) as it might seem.
I missed the overall flavor variety you know from authentic mexican food and necessities like white onions, cilantro and the pineapple pieces on the tacos. My tip: Be more courages and let the people in Essen explore the mexican power in terms of...
Read moreI was really excited about a new restaurant opening in our neighbourhood, especially a Mexican one. Unfortunately a disappointing experience. Cocktails taste like they are pre-made for every evening and lack balance and finesse, beer bottle was covered in dust, the food has no real Mexican spice flavours that one would expect. Burritos are like cigars and not Burritos, no proper seasoning for the Fajita dish. I hardly got any chicken with my Fajita, it was 80% peppers & onions. Everything just tastes bland, and like it’s not freshly made in the kitchen, more like it’s ordered in bags and just warmed up, salsa not house made. Spicy is not spicy. The Staff serving you don’t know the menu, could not tell me how big the portions are. Price vs Quality not there for me. As it’s a new restaurant, I went twice, incase the first experience was just “teething problems”. Sorry but food is bland, which for me is boring, and proper Mexican food & beverages are not...
Read moreVery good overall experience.
We walked in on a Monday evening at dinner time and the place was almost empty while the terrace was half full.
The place looks amazing with all the succulents combined with the Latino music adding to a very good atmosphere.
The service was blitz quick and top notch!
Appreciated the tap water offered by default. That was a nice touch.
Drinks wise we had only standard Spezi / Schorle, so nothing to mention there.
The food was good, but a tad unspectacular for Mexican food standards. There was more flavor in the sauces than the food itself and there was surely toouch sauce by default.
Had a very good experience, but the food could be a bit more bold.
Would however return to the place as it is a top Mexican...
