Just went to this cafe today. The ambience is nice - a bit tight, but normal. The lady who took my order was very unfriendly and not very patient with me as I was trying to figure out what I wanted, even though there was no one waiting behind me to order. I ordered the small “salad” which consists of a mix of whatever is on their cold bar for the day. The lentils were grainy and tasted bad. Everything was so liquidy and just created a puddle at the bottom of the bowl. Everything else in the bowl lacked flavor and was more room temperature rather than cold. It was the first time ever that I could not finish a dish at a restaurant because it was genuinely bad. I would recommend trying other things on the menu, as those might be better than the salad selection. Overall, not somewhere I would want to come back. The coffee was mediocre at best as well. Wer auch nur ein bisschen Ahnung von guter Gastronomie hat, wird diesen Laden nach einem Besuch definitiv meiden. Unser Besuch war leider komplett enttäuschend. Für zwei einfache Bagels mussten wir 45 Minuten warten, und das nicht, weil es voll war, sondern weil das Personal desinteressiert, langsam und unorganisiert war. Es gab kein erkennbares System, niemand wirkte eingespielt, und man hatte durchgehend das Gefühl, dass hier niemand je ernsthaft in der Gastro gearbeitet hat oder überhaupt versteht, wie ein Café funktionieren sollte. Als das Essen dann endlich kam, hieß es nur: “Besteck könnt ihr euch drin holen” was das ganze Erlebnis noch unprofessioneller machte. Die Bagels selbst waren geschmacklich so eine 3/10, eine Supermarkt Avocado-Creme(keine richtige Avocado), etwas Ei und sonst auch nichts besonderes, zu Hause hätte man es besser und schneller hinbekommen. Der Matcha war genauso schwach, erdig und bitter, definitiv kein guter Matcha. Man merkt dass hier einfach jemand einen coolen, ästhetischen Laden eröffnen wollte, ohne wirklich zu wissen, wie Gastronomie funktioniert. Kein Herzblut, kein Plan, keine Qualität. Very cute little cafe, I haven’t seen any other cafes in Essen that serve strawberry matcha so I was very excited, although it’s not the best matcha but maybe that’s because I chose coconut milk. Desserts were amazing! My friend got a regular Matcha latte with regular milk but it was tooo milky didn’t taste too much like Matcha. Definitely going again for the desserts n maybe a different milk choice...
