We have stayed at this lovely hotel right in the centre of Fussen many times and it would be unfair if I did not say that we are extremely well aquainted with the tenants of this lovely Olde Worlde building. But I will be honest in my appraisal.||Firstly, whenever we arrive in this lovely part of the world, we have always felt at home right away. The Bonhomie of both our friends and the staff as well as the locals is always the same no matter the time of year. The food is always fresh, hot (right to the end of the meal) and tasty and superbly presented in the local style of cooking [from the roast lamb to my husbands favourite-the steak- and mine which is Potato Soup in the bun for lunch and Jaeger Schnitzel for dinner] and in the tradition set by the hotel, on medieval ceramic serving platters,( plate) and the drinks in mugs with no handles, a bib around our necks completes the look for good measure (and for those of us that occasionally spill our food)! I have never had a bad meal yet! Yum Yum!! The accommodation is very traditional as one might expect in such an old building. The rooms for the most part are large and spacious, light, airy. The carpeted floors are uneven and squeaky in places. But, what does one expect in a building that is over 500 years old! This just adds to the fun of staying there. There are ceramic sinks with running hot and cold water in all the rooms and a mirror and shaving point over the sink area. The towels are clean and fresh and plentiful. The shower areas (no baths available) are basic too but always clean with one shared shower room on each floor. The toilet area is separate on one floor and combined with the shower on the other. There are no TV's or mod cons in the rooms, just comfy beds with a basic wardrobe and shelving and a bedside chest attached to each side of the headboard. Lovely! It wasn't until a couple of years ago that I realised we hadn't even watched TV for over a week -or read a newspaper- while we were staying in the hotel. To me this all adds to the 'Holiday Experience'.||(There is no lift...

I spent three nights at this pension. On arrival they told me there was no breakfast included ( they are mainly a restaurant that is not open in the morning - at least in October which is off season here ). I handed them my email confirmation stating that breakfast was included. With no hesitation the woman deducted 5 Euros from the price and said I could get breakfast at a nearby bakery. The bakery had good pastry and coffee, though I could not eat as much as I would normally if breakfast was included. Still the over all price was very reasonable for a single with sink but without bathroom and shower. The first room they put me in the over head light did not work. Since they had another room available, they switched me immediately. The room itself was find, though the hall areas are quite run down and the shower area is run down a little. The shower had ample hot water. No one is around late at night and in the morning. The location of the pension was great and there was no noise at night. The staff was all restaurant staff but were friendly when I spoke to them. They knew some English. If you are looking for a very cheap place that is a little rundown in a good location, then this is for you, otherwise I would recommend you try another pension.||The Fussen area is quite scenic, even though the weather was lousy....I think it is best to go there when it is a little warmer and when the weather is better. I still had a good time. There was no...

If you're passing through Prussen, in charming Bavaria, Gasthof Krone is a must-stop. The restaurant not only offers traditional German cuisine that will take your breath away but also has a super charming medieval decor. From the cutlery to the mugs, everything follows a rustic aesthetic, creating a unique and engaging atmosphere. Starting with the food, the rustic presentation was just right for the restaurant's style. We tried everything, from appetizers to desserts, but I have to highlight the mushroom soup, which was divine. The pork knuckle was also excellent, well-seasoned and flavorful, though I was expecting the skin to be a bit crunchier. Still, it was a delicious dish! Moreover, the drinks are a show on their own. The craft beers they serve are a must-try. You can taste Bavaria's tradition in every sip. The service was attentive, with the staff paying close attention to detail, which made the experience even more enjoyable. And the best part? The prices are fair, considering the quality and the charm of the place. I highly recommend it! Every minute spent relaxing at this charming restaurant is worth it.

I came here for a dinner, it is located in Füssen Altstadt, surrounded of many medieval houses and buildings, the place itself has an ancient medieval structure in the outer part, when I got inside the restaurant, I got shocked! Very surprised! Never thought I could find a place so nice and cool like this, it's like traveling in time and going back to the ancient Germany, the place is designed and decorated as an medieval restaurant, everything inside, chairs, benches, tables, there are knights armors in the walls, the glasses are made as ancient German beer glasses. I loved this place, and not to say the food!!! It was totally amazing, I spent 25 euros in a pork nuckle, the size of the food is big and widely generous, I couldn't finish it. I'm looking forward to get back to this fairy tale place and the beautiful city of Füssen.

Mediocre to say the best, in my opinion, the restaurant didn't leave us any impressions for its recipes: the mushroom soup was fine (or maybe plain to be honest), but the pork knuckle was overcooked as the upper layer of meat was stiff and dry (and the sauce tasted like industrial instant package sauce). After eating we just felt full, like after cheap buffet bingeing, and didn't even bother to discuss it. Overall it's a not place to fret about if you have never tried it. If you want to stuff your face, it's passable. Don't waste time queuing up for it.
