Restaurant Diya — Restaurant in Frankfurt

We live nearby and have eaten at Diya many times previously, so we decided to come here once more. We were here with my family and my mother visiting from abroad. The food was excellent, the atmosphere is very Indian, and the server was extremely nice, friendly and helpful. As an example: My son wasn't sure what he wanted to eat, he wanted a chicken curry but our server was concerned that this would be too spicy for him. He suggested that my son try the butter chicken and even offered to switch it to a different meal if he didn't like it!

I can recommend their biryanis and anything made in the tandoor oven.

Slow, unattentive service. Terrible vegetable pakora (tasted like burnt oil). Tiny lamb portions. Atmosphere on the sad side. Senselessy overpriced. Besides, we had a reservation on Quandoo, but they said they do not recognize that service anymore, just forgot to deactivate it... The restaurant was almost empty, which was a luck for the unrecognized reservation, but on the other hand it contributed to the sad atmosphere, considering that it was saturday evening. I often walk past this restaurant and had been wondering why it's always empty....

Great food, pleasant ambience and service with a smile. Had a great time with my family over dinner. We were recommended Indian version instead of regular version (guessing spice level for European pallete). It was as close as a restaurant in India. I know some people complain about delay, but it is family run joint and when they have crowd there will be delay. If you are able to accept it the food and service make up for any delays.
