We had a big dinner booked at Schöneberger with a group of friends. The space made a great first impression: low lighting, modern yet cozy décor, and a relaxed, intimate vibe that felt welcoming without being too formal. What stood out the most was the staff, easily the best part of the experience, and not what you can normally expect from service in Germany. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, warm, and incredibly attentive. With a large group, service can often get messy, but here it was smooth, personal, and genuinely pleasant. I wanted to try something traditional, so I went for two classics: the Frankfurt Schnitzel and the Jägerschnitzel. The schnitzel portions were generous, but I found the meat quite thin. The Frankfurt Schnitzel was decent, but I really missed the boiled egg in the green sauce, which would’ve added some texture and richness to the dish. The Jägerschnitzel, on the other hand, was more flavourful, with a deep mushroom sauce that felt comforting and well-balanced. The sides were spot on fries were crispy and golden, and the salad was fresh and simple, just as it should be. To finish off, I had an Espresso Martini, which surprised me: really tasty and smooth, though oddly served in a regular glass instead of a martini glass - small detail, but worth mentioning. Overall, a solid place for a nice evening with friends. The food was fine, not unforgettable, but the atmosphere and the staff definitely made it a night...
Read moreThis place has a really great atmosphere. It's in Bornheim, which is a pretty good part of town. It has outdoor seating in the front and the back. Out back is a charming little courtyard where I imagine it would be nice to sit if you wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle street side. The inside has a nice design as well. High ceilings, open floor plan, large bar and musical instruments hanging all over the walls. I think there is some other weird stuff on the walls as well, but I can't remember because I was on muscle relaxers and drank way too much beer. Service was adequate and the food came quick. The nachos were surprisingly good, but the Frankfurter schnitzel was just ok. Overall, cool bar to hang out at. Drink beer and eat nachos! I'm going to put that on...
Read moreWent here for dinner today. Had the Wiener Schnitzel and the salad with chanterelles.
First we went to the restaurant. The interior is typical for a Frankfurt restaurant. There are benches outside, so you can also enjoy food and drink outside.
The service itself is average. Friendly, but unfortunately not attentive. The restaurant wasn't busy, but the service chatted inside.
Now for the food: the salad was tasty, but there were far too few chanterelles in it. The schnitzel with fried potatoes, green sauce and side salad was rather poor.
The schnitzel was very dry, the fried potatoes rather bland. The green sauce, however, was very tasty.
The Schöneberger is and remains a cool place for drinks. For the food, I would rather choose...
