China Restaurant Orchidee — Restaurant in Göttingen

I visited the restaurant today: The place was cozy and nice with the big restaurant and super clean washrooms .. The service was really awful because of the waiter (the only one who doesn't look like from China with white shirt) .. he wasn't not friendly and unprofessional at all.. He saw me bringing 2 plates then spoke with me as speaking to a child not to take a lot of food because of the food waste (he was right but his way of communication was impolite), then I replied to him that we will not waist any food .. Later he came to our table and asked us: are you going to finish all this amount? I replied to him: yes, that's fine, then he said: otherwise you will pay for the extra food, I was very patient with him and told him, okay .. After we ordered the bill he came to us for the third time to give us a lecture on morality and he asked us if we are going to an open buffet for the first time and that provoked my friend and she told please don't speak with us in this way and he started to rebuke her as he rebukes as a child telling her not to speak loudly, and he touched the food with his hands in a rude way .. it was really impolite way of dealing with customers.. I spoke with the older man he looked as a wise man and shift leader, and he dealt well with the situation and asked us to be patient.. the I told him what happened from the waiter and the way he spoke with us .. he promised me to speak with him.. Finally: we laid for an extra portion and took the rest of the food to home, otherwise we would pay extra 5 Euros and they will get rid of the food (that's really a shame) .. The atmosphere: perfect.. I don't know if I can recommend it or if I will go again but of course I would not accept the same way of...

Do not recommend at all, if I could give it zero Star I would. The employees can not speak English and did not make any effort to try explain or help They showed the buffet, but did not say the Dessert cost extra, so when we wanted to pay we ask where did this cost come from,the cost was 80 Euro for 3 persons when it say 15.90 Euro per person out side, then they show the Dessert on the bill, so we gave in but then he wanted us to tip them also, I said no and he got upset and ask why, So I responded so now you can speak English or understand, so I gave in becuse I did not want to argue with them becuse they are not worth the time.

So to any non German or German speaking person that is on Holiday here DO NOT waste your time or many on this place even if it is close to the hotel eat at the hotel they have much...

Wir haben lange überlegt, wo wir mal wieder lecker Essen gehen können. Wir hatten Orchidee (früher Lotusblume) so gut in Erinnerung, sodass wir uns nach vielen Jahren mal wieder für dieses Lokal entschieden haben.

Auf dem Parkplatz: 3 Autos. Ein Zeichen? Vielleicht... Nach dem wir uns gesetzt haben und zügig die Getränke aufgenommen worden sind, haben wir uns auf den Weg zum Buffet gemacht.

Das Hühnchen, egal ob gebacken oder frittiert: teilweise roh und muffig! Die Ente: Mehr Fett und Knorpel, als Fleisch.. Das zum Braten gegebene Fleisch: teilweise roh! Das Essen in den Wärmebehältern: dermaßen verkocht, vermutlich zig mal aufgewärmt, trotzdem kalt.

Der Koch hat das rohe Fleisch lediglich zur Kenntnis genommen; ein Kellner hat das Fleisch direkt vom Teller probiert und darauf hingewiesen, dass täglich frisches Essen serviert wird.

Wir haben nicht mal dem Restaurant einen großen Vorwurf gemacht, es hätte ja auch an anderer Stelle die Kühlkette unterbrochen worden sein; wir fanden die Reaktion auf das offensichtlich rohe und riechende Fleisch sehr unangemessen.

Nachdem uns der Appetit vergangenen war und wir nach 20 min Anwesenheit zahlen wollten, wurden wir noch doof von der Seite angemacht, warum wir kein Trinkgeld zahlen würden. Wir ließen den Kommentar unbeantwortet.

Trotz alledem haben wir für ziemlich wenig, ziemlich viel Geld zahlen müssen. Wir sind keine Freunde von den riesen großen Chinarestaurants, von dem es bekanntlich auch eins in Göttingen gibt, da der Preis für ein mongolisches Buffet dermaßen in die Höhe geschossen ist. Die Orchidee ist erheblich kleiner, oller und hat zudem ein wesentlich geringeres Angebot am Buffet anzubieten. Der Preis orientiert sich dennoch an den "Großen".

Wir erinnern uns an eine komplett ausgebuchte Lotusblume, einen überquellenden Parkplatz und leckeres Essen vor einigen Jahren. Leider haben wir keines davon zu...
