Orient Grill Ocakbasi — Restaurant in Gütersloh

We visited this place recently and were pleasantly surprised by how warm and welcoming it felt. The food was absolutely delicious — freshly prepared, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented. Portions were very generous, which we truly appreciated. You definitely get great value for money here. 🍽️

A special thank you to the staff — especially the kind ladies who assisted us! Since we don’t speak German very well, they kindly brought us a photo menu to help us better understand the dishes. That thoughtful gesture made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. 📸🙏

The interior is cozy and inviting. We chose to sit outside, which was nice, although the tables are right by the street, so it can get a bit noisy due to traffic. Not a big problem, but something to keep in mind.

All in all, a lovely experience. We’re definitely planning to come back and would gladly recommend this place...

This is the best orient grill among the other grills in Gütersloh.

The food was really delicious, especially the kebab.

The salad was okay.

Linsen Soup & bread is also good.

I love the way they welcome people, the staff are friendly with big smiley faces.

The presentation of food was so good, which I miss in other Turkish / orient restaurants.

Whenever I go to any restaurant or imbiss , I really care how they serve the drinks & food, their decoration,  the  toilet and staff.

The chairs and tables were neat & clean, and dry. Their toilet was also clean & dry.

Das Essen selbst ist gut und schmeckt. Mein Kritikpunkt ist aber das Bezahlen, da Kartenzahlung erst ab 10€ möglich sind und keine Kreditkarten unterstützt werden. Bei mir war es sogar noch so, dass meine Girokarte vom Kartenlesegerät abgelehnt wurde, obwohl es wie jede 0815 Girokarte eine Maestro Card ist. Mir wurde dann gesagt, dass keine Kreditkarten akzeptiert werden (obwohl es einfach nur eine Girokarte ist, die zum verwechseln ähnlich zu einer Kreditkarte ist) und das nur EC-Karten akzeptiert werden. Ich frage mich aber wie EC-Karten akzeptiert werden sollen, weil Eurocheque-Karte seit 2002 nicht mehr existieren… aber so wie es mir vorkommt ist auch die Art der Bezahlung im Jahr 2002 hängengeblieben und man hat sich seit dem nicht weiter damit auseinandergesetzt… schade, so etwas schreckt Kunden ab, obwohl das Essen gut ist. Nachträgliche Bearbeitung, weil auf die Rezension geantwortet wurde: Warum macht diese Kritik sprachlos? In meinen Augen sind Kreditkarten im 21 Jahrhundert ein normales Zahlungsmittel und sollten von jedem akzeptiert werden. Und das man den Begriff EC-Karte noch heute verwendet spricht auch nicht wirklich für ein vorhandenes Wissen über...
