Don't believe the high rating. First I mention the minor things and at the end the main one (the food) , At our one and only visit the waitress ,after entering the restaurant, greated us and usked how many of us will be dining ,I turn around to ask a friend of mine if our other friend is coming and as I turn back she already started speaking with another customer who was paying ,so we just sit down wherever we wanted ,the menu that was brougth to us was very small and there was a very limited options of meal which wouldnt be a problem if the food was really good or even dare to say exceptional(spoiler...it wasnt) ,the menu itself doesnt looked very afgan as this restaurant claime to be and most of the options and ingrediences looked blaned and boring even on the paper , yet we ordered and while ordering it was told to us that one of the side dishes is not availlable which is sad but understandable as we arrived at 20:00 and restaurant closes at 22:00 but few minutes after ordering it was told to us with apology again that one of friends main dish is also not available which from very limiting menu makes super limiting menu but ok thats still understandable, food arrived quite quick which to me indicates precooked food and only reheated which in a restaurant the charges anywhere between 20 to 30 € is absolutely unacceptable and also the food was badly reheated as it was bassicly room tempreture and about warmness there can not be any talk. So I will give one possitive - the beer was pretty nice and we also could excuse some hickups of the waitress ,which was very kind, but looked busy and in a rush even though there was not a lot of guests, the waitress didnt come to us to ask about the food or after we finished our beers to come and ask us if we want second round of beers and as a result my friend had to get up and order beers at the restaurant counter which again in a good restaurant is unacceptable to be basicly ignored. And so at the end the main course of this review is the FOOD. Very simply said good but nothing special, side dish - Rice with pistacious and sreaded carrot was boring ,blend and ultimatly tastles and could be made home much better very easily by anyone. Main dish - super small bowl of cold gulas with no kick ,no spices ,no intresting flawours...I was very very dissapointed and completly do not understand the rating on google ,2/5 maximum ,very high prices for very boring food ........but at least they have a...
Read moreAVOiD: it's a fake Afghan cuisine. They would legally try to compell you to remove your bad review. That's why their rating is this high...not because of food but because they bully people into removing authentic reviews. Stay away!!
[A note on the response to this review by the owner: their reply cherry picks the cost of the the food and does not bother to mention the poor quality of food and service I am complaining about. As if my main contention is with cost and not quality! I would have never complained if the food was even remotely palatable but it wasn't. This response is unprofessional and shows how arrogant they are! Sounds like they will continue providing horrible food and send people like me to pizzerias. Normally restaurans that pride take pride in their food and genuinely care do two things: apologize for bad food and service and improve. Those who don't care, threaten and insult reviewers, like this owner. Shows what they stand for!]
I was really hoping to eat a delicious Afghani dinner after after a long cold day outdoors but the food was such a let down. I hate to give it 1 star but I was barely able to finish my food as the beef was dry and hard, the rice was tasteless and yogurt dip had no flavor at all. The service was very very slow and I had to change tables to get noticed by the waiter. When the waiter asked about food, I shared my feedback with him in my broken German and he apologized. But that's all I got, unfortunately.
They do not take card payments! There is a little sign on the door which is hard to see (and why would one look for it especially when one is from another country where a restaurant this size just can't never be a cash only restaurant). Very strange to be so cash driven in this day and age, and that too after covid has accelerated digitization even in remote areas of developing countries.
Back to food: I am very familiar with Afghani food and in fact had two back to back delicious meals in an awesome Afghani restaurant in Munich 2 days ago. So this was definitely not like any Afghai food I had but then Afghanistan is a big country with varying flavours. But then that doesn't explain the hardness and drynes of the very pricey meat.
Very strange that it has 4.9 stars on Google! Great atmosphere and may be worth a try but try the meats with caution or just be prepared to return it right away. I wish I...
