Restaurant Da Pino — Restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Myself and my partner were looking for a restaurant in Garmisch on Wednesday evening. This after having some lovely Bavarian food in Füssen and Obserstdorf. We were so glad we chose Restaurant Da Pino! It's true, Italian food is rich in cultural heritage, fresh ingredients, adaptability, and simplicity. I would have to agree that this restaurant stands by this and with the wine too! We can say nothing bad about the food that was served to us from the wonderful choices on the menu. We started off ordering a bottle of wine for the table, we went with the recommendation of our server Uno 1 which was a Primitivo. A very rich wine with some tannins, very flavourful. We shared the mixed raw meat platter with grilled vegetables as a starter which also came with fresh bread...one word, delicious! For the main course my partner went with the lamb with garlic and rosemary. I went with the beef fillet medallion with a rich sauce and shaved truffle. Both dishes were accompanied with green beans and creamy polenta. Both our dishes were cooked to perfection, the meat was very tender and melted in the mouth. For the dessert we got some inspiration from the owner and we went with the Zabaione which was a very light but tasty dessert. At the end we had a shot of lemoncello on the house...Salute!! We were looking for veg options and asked minor customisation. Their friendly staff happily assisted us with explaining the menu what they could modify in the dish which suited our option. We visited for lunch just before their closing time and had wonderful experience. We had noodles with veggies and tomato options. Portion was good enough for 1 person. They checked with us if the food was good asked if we are okay, they just made us comfortable. I love to go back for the friendly staff and for the taste. Both noodle dishes...

The food was ok. Would have been much better I'd we were offered the additional choices that came with each meal. Our waiter was in such a fanatic rush to get or orders , mind you there was only one other couple there, and then get us to finish eating.
