To start with, the place has a very nice new entrance and lobby, but the only time you will ever see it is when you walk by it for breakfast every morning. Instead they use the side entrance to do all their business. I showed up on a Sunday afternoon after a long flight and a long drive from Munich, being sick and tired all i wanted was a bed, i parked the car and walked around the building trying to get someone’s attention, it was raining on top of everything else. I went up to the nice front entrance and it was locked, a second door that looked like it could be the entrance was also locked. Finally found a third door with a buzzer, after about a half hour in the cold and rain i got someone’s attention. Ok, so that sucked. The room was nice, but cold and smelly. The smell was coming from the bathroom, it smelled like an old wet towel or fungus type of smell, my coworker noticed the smell in his room as well. There were no English channels on the TV and only a handful of Germany channels, a real bummer when spending a long time here for work. So then i try to take a shower, there was no soap, next day i had to buy soap, so did my coworker. The internet worked, its 15Euro for a week of unlimited internet, but they give you a printed coupon with a password, each coupon only has a limited amount of data allowed, and when it runs out you can get another ticket. But if your watching something online or skyping with your loved ones and at 930pm your ticket runs out your out of luck. And then the final straw, there was a miscommunication between my company and the management about the reservation, i showed up to the room on Friday after work and all my stuff was gone, at first i thought i was robbed but even my toothbrush was gone so i thought it had to be the house keeping. So i called up the front desk and they said OK, we will look into it and call you back. After a while they called and told me that they packed me up because i was scheduled to leave. Mean while this was the weekend and there was no one around for the weekends here and they for dam sure did not need the room for someone else. I finally got my stuff, went over to the Krone hotel where the staff goes above and beyond to be accommodating. i went through my stuff and everything was just dumped in my bag, the half bag of potato chips were thrown in with my food, and got all over the place, the soap, the gosh darn soap that i had to buy myself was in the bag with all my electronics, at least they smell good now, and everything was a mess. So finally wend over to the main building, btw, its a two minute walk between buildings, its not far but just a pain in the but, especially for breakfast when its cold and raining outside. So i talk to the guy about my stuff being messed with and he was so unapologetic that it made me sick. I told him that he had my phone number, he has my company's phone number, my company has dozens of people stay there every year, the least he could have done is made a phone call, people don't just leave their stuff and disappear, i was obviously coming back, i don't know if this is a cultural thing or just this place but that was the final straw. i told him to cancel the rest of my reservation and that i will never stay there again. BTW i told this story to my coworkers and apparently this has happened before to someone else, how disgusting is that. They just don't learn. Sorry for the rant but do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else, the Krone is very nice but old, but the family who takes care of the place is sooo super friendly i can't even describe in words. But unfortunately they don't have room for me so i'm staying in Ulm at LAGO, which is NICE....Thats all i'm gonna say about this place, maybe one more time its...
Read moreHad this hotel venue for the annual Airbus bike club GTG chosen by the local bikers, and wow what a choice, great hotel with nice clean modern, well equiped rooms, breakfast was great, continental style but plenty of choice, meals taken in the evening were some of the best I have had in Germany, really enjoyed my stay, we werent disappointed.||The bar was good and busy, prices very reasonable. Not too far from town for a walk if you need anything. I went to bed one evening without settling up my bar tab and worried but when I paid the next day nothing was said, very trusting compared to where I live.||The main entrance being locked in the day time could be a pain, but there is a sign pointing around the side to reception, and the door was always open, maybe they have taken note of an earlier review, because our stay was faultless.||Nice soap products supplied and the free internet was a bonus, again, maybe as a result of earlier complaints?||Would recommend room 42 at least as being bright, clean and comfortable.||I would love to stay again if I...
