2019:
The service and food was extremely fast—we were seated immediately, were able to order shortly after receiving our menus, and received our plates all within 25 minutes of our arrival. The food itself was really good and just the right amount of spicy—this coming from a South-Texas gal who is used to Mexican food. Was it perfectly authentic? Not exactly. The nachos did taste a little like movie theater nachos, but the Longhorn plate (pictured) was so good (and the portions were fantastic) that it made up for it! The service and location was really good, too. Honestly, the only thing I would improve, besides more parking (which is understandably limited) is for them to accept credit cards... We got stuck with not enough Euro cash for the bill, and my husband had to drive to an ATM down the street. To be fair, they had a big sign upon walking in that said no cards accepted, which we totally overlooked (after being so excited for Mexican Food). Five stars, will come back again!
Edit, March 2021:
I wanted to update my review now that some changes have been made. First, their menu that they have here is not entirely accurate--they told us they do not make the plates they used to. Instead, many items are sold a la carte... so expect to be told the items over the phone and have to make a quick decision.
Also, their enchiladas were quite dry. I happened to have more salsa at home to add over my plate, so I did. But I forced myself through the first half of my meal without it. I recommend asking if it's possible for them to include more salsa... or do the smart thing and always carry some around with you wherever you go 😂
The last thing is that while their prices have not changed, the portion sizes HAVE. I was extremely disappointed in the portion size of the dish I ordered... it was easily half the size that their sit-down plates used to be (pictured in this review), but the price is still the same... over $10 for a portion.
I know restaurants are struggling right now, but they also need to stay competitive and make it so that we want to return often. I hope that they might consider making some changes, to include adding their correct and most up-to-date menu here for us to be able to peruse before we call in our order. And potentially having the option to order over WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger would be a bonus, too. Maybe in the future. Updated my five-star review to three stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️, but I'm open to trying again in the future to potentially update my review. I'll...
Read moreAre you missing the states and craving some amazing queso and chips? Unfortunately you’ll have to keep looking.
The place is impressive looking from the outside and it’s decor inside looks okay too.
But the food…we asked for corn tortillas and got soft flour instead. The ground beef tacos come with beans already cooked with it not on the side and my chicken quesadilla had maybe 2 small pieces of chicken per slice. I asked for a side of rice and my order took way longer to come out than his did, as you can see in my pics we had the same rice, however, his rice was burnt and seemed like the ends of the pot and mine was fresh. It didn’t taste like the normal Mexican Rice you get in the states but it was okay.
I don’t know about you but I judge most Mexican restaurants by their chips, salsa, and queso. The chips were just okay but a bit thick and the salsa was also okay and could pass for salsa back home but the queso was inconsistent. The first small dish we got to try tasted okay but when we ordered a side of it, it came lumpy and almost greenish in color. The worst part is my husband and I are now both dealing with bubble guts and this food was not worth it.
My husband ordered the Coronita Frozen Margarita and he got a watery glass with a small chunk of frozen marg floating in the middle of the glass. Idk how you serve a melted frozen drink in the first 10 mins you sit down but this place managed to serve just that.
I was disappointed as the pictures and reviews looked promising but the service was bad and everything took forever to come out and it was staggered as opposed to us receiving our entrees at the same time. We asked for additional chips with the side of queso and it took so long when she brought it we were asking for the check as she set it down. It wasn’t even that busy so we will not be coming here again and all the food was left to be thrown away bc my husband, who eats just about anything, said no way I’m not taking that home.
It cost 55€ and it was a waste, also this is a cash only business and when they bring you the check the lady hovers over you until you pay! She had a small black change purse which she counted out our change on the table next to ours. Not sure if that is customary in Germany or it was just done to us. This was our first restaurant we tried in Germany and beyond dissatisfied and disappointed is an...
Read moreSo this is strictly on the food. Service and atmosphere was great on those I give 5 stars. Let's start with the margarita. Typical with a nice tequila punch slush and I say it is above average. We ordered salsa and chips and a order of guacamole. The salsa was really strong of vinegar and the guacamole just didn't have any taste other than lime. I ordered the lonestar plate and my wife ordered some tacos. The meals came out and looked beautiful but taste was another story. The taste was bland no kick of spice no hint of heat. The onions and peppers on one of my tacos wasn't even cooked and was crunchy. The enchilada sauce was just taco bell sauce poured over them. Not the slightly sweet with a hint of chocolate you expect. The only part of the plate that had flavor was the rice. My wife's tacos where the same. Just lacked flavor and it just wasn't as close as to authentic as they claim. I understand we are in Germany and it is not the culinary center for Mexican based foods but to sum it up was basically dressed up taco bell that we could get on base. If you are just looking for a damn cold margarita and a nice drinking establishment then this the place. As far as the restaurant they need to do more research on how to get the...
