Restaurant und Hotel Olive — Restaurant in Greifswald

Our experience with this hotel was not very good. ||||On arrival (we were on a cycling tour) we were greeted by a man loitering in the doorway (the same person appearing on the last pictures submitted by the hotel management - the owner perhaps?) who first tried to overcharge us by ten euros, then stood with arms folded not lifting a finger as we were offloading our luggage, while telling us that if our bicycles would leave a mark on the facade of the building he would charge us for a new paint job. This was all within five minutes after arrival and we seriously considered leaving, but it had been a long day so we decided to ignore his behaviour. ||||The room itself is OK, nothing special with the exception of the bathroom. The door to the shower cabin had disappeared and instead a shower curtain had been installed. This curtain looked as if it had been ripped off manually from a larger piece, with frayed edges and some mould. Because of the unfriendly welcome, we decided not to eat at the restaurant, even though the dishes on offer looked attractive.||||Breakfast the next morning proved a serious health hazard. All food (bread, sausages, cheese, the average German breakfast) was put out at a table on ordinary plates without any form of refrigeration or cover. When we arrived, the food had been there for quite a while and everyhing, including the meats, was at room temperature, which was about 25 degrees. ||||Since nothing was covered, a number of big black flies were having a feast. As there was no staff to ask for food which had not been nibbled at by flies, we solved the matter by flipping over the ingredients and eating the part the flies had not touched yet. Needless to say, that this is not what to expect from a hotel that presents itself as a three-star quality hotel. ||||We decided to move to Hotel zur Brücke the next day, which is slighyly more expensive, but offers superior service in...

I was invited to speak at an event and my hosts booked me into this "hotel" - which was my worst travel experience ever! First, it is absolutely no "hotel" but much rather a cheap, ugly and not so clean hostel. Secondly, when I arrived I thought, ok this will do for the night, but that was before the "welcome" by the "host" (proprietor of the place) who (wrongly) denied having received a reservation in my name and would only hand me a key after I had paid the bill in advance. This could at least all have been done in a friendly manner. But no. If you ever think about staying...

Dieses Hotel ist wirklich nicht zu empfehlen. Ich bin Vielreiser aber so etwas habe ich wirklich noch nie erlebt. Es war kein Schild "Bitte nicht stören" vorhanden und so wurde täglich das Zimmer betreten und aufgeräumt. Dabei wurde ein Laptop vom Bett geräumt, welcher gerade ein Backup erstellte und somit das backup zerstört und die Festplatte beschädigt wurde. Als ich mich diesbezüglich beschwert hatte, meinte der südländische Besitzer "Wir halten uns nicht an die Privatsphäre der Zimmergäste. Wir gehen aus Sicherheitsgründen in die Zimmer, wann wir wollen". Unglaublich diese Haltung. Da ich über mehrere Tage eingebucht war, bat ich dann, ob man mir für den späteren Zeitraum ein ruhiges Zimmer geben könnte (es waren 3 Tage zwischen meinen beiden Buchungen) und bekam diese Antwort. "Sehr geehrter Herr Möller,||Sie haben sich vor Ort gewünscht das wir Ihnen ein ruhiges Zimmer zur Hofseite zur Verfügung stellen,da wir diesem Wunsch nicht||nachgehen können und weiteren Beschwerden aus dem Weg gehen möchten haben wir das Zimmer storniert wir bitten um Ihr Verständniß." Diese schrieb man mir mir an einem Freitag um 15 Uhr und ich hätte am Sonntag wieder einchecken müssen. In der kurzen Zeit habe ich natürlich kein günstiges Zimmer mehr bekommen. Die Krönung war dann am Ende eine Hotelrechnung in Form eines Bewirtungsbeleges mit einer Tischnummer und 3 Orangensäften a 1.50 Euro auf der Rechnung. Die kosten nämlich extra beim inkludierten Frühstück. Das wurde aber zu keinem Zeitpunkt vorher erwähnt. Greifswald ist wirklich eine tolle Stadt aber das Hotel Olive gehört garantiert nicht zu den tollen...
