As others have noted, an unexpectedly satisfying Mexican restaurant where you wouldn’t expect to find one. I particularly like the tinga and mole preparations; we were recently delighted by some house-made dulce de leche ice cream (have it with hot churros and chocolate sauce). The tortilla chips are fresh; the guacamole is hit or miss and I wasn’t too into the salsa brava, which tasted more like enchilada sauce and I really wanted something fresh. But I can overlook these flaws because I know how hard it is to source fresh jalapeños and tomatillos in Germany, and because Mextreme offers something else rare around these parts: outstanding customer service. I’ve had three different servers at this point, including one in training, and they were all friendly, helpful, and well-informed. Little wonder this place is so popular! My only regret is that they are not...

I'mextremely surprised by the negative reviews here, and the sheer weight of the perceived injustice moves me to force my tequila-laden opinion on you. Mextreme is the newcomer to a site that had apparently lain vacant for a while. This was a sadness because it's a lovely spot on edge of Paulusviertel with a large beer garden. Mexicanophile friends say the food is authentic; it's certainly a long way from the banal Tex-Mex fare you'll find on any old Strasse. Contrary to the other reviews, we thought the food was great - and about as fresh and full of love as you would expect homecooked-style food to be. And there was nothing wrong with the service, even on a busy Friday night - with so many customers, Mextreme must be doing something right. Best Mexican restaurant in Halle!

Staff very friendly. Which is definitely something unique about this restaurant, as opposed to a lot of other restaurants here in Halle/Germany. Felt very welcome!

Great menu, looking forward to trying more of the dishes. The chicken enchiladas were great and filling.
