Hala — Restaurant in Hamburg

We have been planning to go here from long time so we decided to go on a weekday. It was not overly crowded and the staff was very very friendly , helped us with our coats and all at the entry. We all could speak enough German but probably seeing us make mistake, they offered to help in English. There was a tiny snack to begin the dinner with, it was something I can’t describe in words. Later on we got the wine and they helped in choosing a good one for our requirements. We decided to go with classic Lebanese starters, all vegetarian and we got taste of a lot of food. All of it was such a treat to our senses. Then instead of going for one main course for each one of us, we got bigger portions of some of the most liked vegetarian starters and filled ourselves more with those. Forgot to take a picture of dessert because we just jumped on it, It was a combination of Lebanese baklavas. Nothing more I can ask for honestly. We left late at night when they were closing and that’s how much we enjoyed the evening. Would keep on going...

We visited restaurant Hala just today. And wow such a lovely experience. Absolutley wonderful food, made with love. The waitresses and the owner delievered first class service. We could customize a meal for our kids, 5 & 7 years old, and they were offered a wonderful meal, wich they happily ate, my dauther kept saying how nice the food was. They served us some starters even thou we hadnt ordered, the hospitality was great! First class products and wonderful food. I give this restaurant 10 out of 10. Food, service and staff. Das Lokal ist im Stadtteilzentrum von Othmarschen gut erreichbar und bei Anreise mit dem Auto sind ausreichend Parkplätze in der näheren Umgebung vorhanden, wir haben einen Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür bekommen. Von außen ist das Lokal etwas unscheinbar, innen ist es aber liebevoll dekoriert, ohne dabei überladen zu wirken. Sehr kleiner Kritikpunkt: Auf allen Tischen sind auf markellos weißen Tischdecken Rosenblätter, schwarzer Sesam und rote Linsen verstreut, was ich für Paare o.k. finde, bei Geschäftsessen ist das das für meinen Geschmack dann doch too much...

Die telefonische Reservierung für den selben Abend klappte problemlos.

Die Bedienungen waren sehr freundlich und auch zu Späßen aufgelegt, auch wurden die Zutaten der einzelnen Mezza gut erklärt, was wir sehr interessant fanden.

Zum Essen selbst: Wow! Die Karte bietet eine unglaubliche Auswahl an diversen kalten und warmen Mezza sowie einigen orientalischen Hauptgerichten. Dabei ist jedes einzelne Angebot eine komplexe, gut abgestimmte Geschmackskomposition. Selbst Zutaten, denen eigentlich weder ich noch meine Begleitung etwas abgewinnen konnten, fügen sich perfekt ein, so dass wir selbst rote Beete und Oliven auf einmal sehr gerne gegessen haben. Hut ab!

Als Empfehlung: nehmt das hala-Menü, hier bekommt ihr für 39 Euro einen echten Rundumschlag queer durch die Vielfalt der Speisekarte. Zuzweit haben wir 8 kalte Mezza und 6 warme Mezza gekriegt, dazu jeweils 2 Grüße aus der Küche und eine Dessert-Kombination mit Probierportionen von 4 verschiedenen Süßspeisen.

Ich war von diesem für mich ersten Ausflug in die orientalische Küche hin und weg, also komplett begeistert, und werde in Zukunft öfter mal vorbeischauen, um auch den Rest der Speisekarte...
