Herzstück — Restaurant in Hamburg

We reserved a table for a Sunday Brunch at this restaurant as a party of four friends. However, four of us departed the location dissatisfied due to numerous facts. As a summary: terrible price-quality ratio, extremely (couldn't emphasise more on this) slow service, incompetent expectation management, grumpy staff.

When we received the menu, we were informed that the two main brunch items—pancakes and buratta tartines—were not available. After a thorough social media stalk, we were there for those two, thus this caused a slight sense of disappointment. After placing our drink orders, we were given a very little yet overpriced fruit juice and a cappuccino that lacked foam.

We were unable to order the meal we initially wanted because they were out of avocados when we were ready to place our order.

The pace of the service was terrible. Indeed, we waited for our eggs for 55 minutes. We were given the option of a glass of champagne as we waited for that. Although it was a thoughtful gesture, we were not asked if we were drinking and no other option was suggested.

It is clear that the eggs were not worth the price of 11 euros. We all hoped this location had a better price-quality ratio.

The staff was acting very nice until we saw the grumpy face when they received very low tips.This made us feel really uncomfortable.

The restaurant had a promising atmosphere, so we decided to stop by without a reservation. Fortunately, there was no long wait, and we were greeted warmly upon arrival.

We were hoping for a late lunch, but the menu only offered salads or desserts at that time. We settled on the banana bread and waffles. Unfortunately, the banana bread was disappointing—it was more like plain bread than the moist, flavorful treat we expected, and it was quite dry.

The real frustration came with the waffles, which took a staggering 40 minutes to arrive. When I asked a staff member about the delay, I was met with an unhelpful and rude response: “Can’t help you, I’m serving at the bar.”

Just had a very disgusting experience here. Waited at the front to be seated and were ignored multiple times by multiple members of staff. Since the restaurant was empty and we were being ignored, my friends and I took it upon ourselves to sit down at an empty table with no reservation sign.

We were then approached by a man with longish dark hair who had an extremely aggressive attitude. This was very threatening as we are three young girls. He was raising his voice and making a point of telling us how we were “breaking his rules”. My friend has seen similar experiences at this establishment with the same man.

I really hope management can reflect with him on how he can treat others with basic respect and improve upon his shabby...
