We went here because we met up with a good friend who lives nearby.

The restaurant was packed because the weather was miserable (cold and rainy) and the outside places could not be used and many people had changed their reservations to indoors, so we had to wait for our table for 15 minutes despite our reservation.

But we weren't upset. As soon as we came in, we were greeted and informed about the current situation with an apology for the inconvenience of having to wait. We felt seen and valued. This is so rare in this world.

The staff was very friendly from beginning to and you could see that there was order in structure and tasks. We knew who was responsible for our table. Seeing the restaurant so full, it was evident that there was a lot of work to be done and that stress levels were extremely high, given the changed circumstances and the noise level of a completely booked restaurant. Nevertheless, we were treated friendly, new beverages were offered when ours ram dry. And the waiters made a joke or two, but not any inappropriate ones, so they really contributed to a good mood and atmosphere.

The food we ordered was small in size, but we didn't leave hungry. It was high quality food that tasted 😋 very well and left us satisfied. Plus, they offered the widest range of Greek food that I had ever encountered at a Greek restaurant.

Spitze! Die Taverna Samos ist ein sehr schönes, gemütliches Restaurant. Ich gehe seit vielen Jahren regelmäßig dort essen und die Qualität ist immer erstklassig. Preise sind eher hoch, trotzdem stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und der Service ist super. Es ist immer möglich, extra Wünsche zu äußern (z.B. Nur gewürzte Tomaten statt Salat für die Kinder). Auch Empfehlungen für z.B. Weine gibt das Personal gerne. Besonders gut: es gibt fast jedes Gericht einmal normal und einmal “für den kleinen Hunger”. Super praktisch! Auch die Draußenplätze sind sehr schön und oft in der Abendsonne. Drinnen ist es gemütlich und trotzdem modern, es gibt (zum Glück) keine typisch-griechischer-Imbiss blau-weiße Deko sondern eher moderne Blumendeko. Seit dem Umbau ist noch mehr Platz und man kriegt auch manchmal ohne Reservierung einen Platz. Trotzdem ist reservieren immer zu empfehlen. Leider ist der große neu umgebaute Raum sehr offen und dadurch auch laut. Doch nach Kritik gegenüber des Chefs meinerseits versicherte dieser sofort, sie arbeiteten an Lärmdämmung und nahm auch gerne Tipps und Vorschläge entgegen. Definitiv der beste Grieche...

They are trying to be different than other greek restaurants - there is no blue and white deco straight from Santorini, but modern, minimalistic interiors. Unfortunately the food is all the way traditional - heavy and fatty. I wish the cook would make a modern upgrade to a Greek cusine, because, the standard gyros and metaxa sauce are used up.
