Yamato — Restaurant in Hamburg

This is my last day in Hamburg and really wanted to try some ramen before leaving. So even if I have already had dinner elsewhere, I still visited this place because of its high rating on Google Maps, and thus, some expections.

I will start by saying that the service and the chicken gyoza are good. However, as you can see from the photo, there’s a crack on the bowl, which I requested to replace and it was denied. For the safety of the customers and employees, I’m surprised that they still serve this bowl to people.

Second, I don’t know if it’s the usual case or it’s just one incident — but some of the noodles were not even cooked through and still clinging together, as I could still taste the raw-ness. I really wanted to love this place as my trip in Hamburg has been really positive overall, but for this price I expect better quality than what...

I stopped by for a quick lunch. The prices on their website must have been for delivery, because the actual menu prices were a pleasant surprise and much more reasonable.

While ramen seems to be their specialty, I was craving rice so I ordered a poke bowl. The rice was a bit dry and mushy, but it was acceptable. The toppings were fine—nothing special, but a decent, standard bowl overall.

What made it a good experience, though, was the free tea service (just like in Japan!) and the great price of around €10. You can't complain when you get a simple but satisfying meal...

Ich werde mit dem Positiven beginnen. Ich fand die Atmosphäre ganz gemütlich. Das Personal war freundlich. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt. Es gab wirklich leckeren grünen Tee kostenlos für jeden Gast und eine Vielzahl von scharfen Saucen, aber die meisten Flaschen waren fast leer. Von leichten Abstrichen: Es gibt wirklich wenig Platz zwischen den Tischen, was normalerweise bedeutet, dass die Besitzer versuchen, den Gewinn zu maximieren, indem sie so viele Leute wie möglich gleichzeitig unterbringen, während es auch positiv sein kann, da es bedeutet, dass mehr Leute gleichzeitig sitzen können und man weniger auf einen Tisch warten muss. Das Personal war zwar freundlich und beantwortete alle meine Fragen, aber ich war der erste Gast des Tages und wurde nicht begrüßt, nachdem ich unbeholfen im Eingang stand, bis ich selbst Hallo gesagt habe. Obwohl ich die erste Kundin war, musste ich immer noch 15 Minuten auf meine Ramen warten, was für ein Mittagessen viel zu lange ist. Das konnte aber natürlich sein das Ramen von guten Zutaten gemacht ist, aber Laden sollte etwas vorbereitet sein da Ich Tonkotsu Ramen bestellt habe das eine der fan favorite ist. Ramen war ingesamt ganz Lecker vor allem die Brühe und die Nudeln, aber bisschen zu wenig Fleisch (3 dünne Stücke) für 13€. Wenn ich nach der Arbeit Lust auf Ramen habe, könnte ich dieses Restaurant in Betracht ziehen, aber leider ist es nichts, was ich persönlich häufig besuchen würde. Ich würde trotzdem empfehlen, es zu probieren, wenn man Ramen...
