Ibiza del Mar — Restaurant in Hanau

Last night me and my partner went there, not expecting much. I am a person who lived almost his entire life in Spain (22 years), in Murcia, Salamanca, Mallorca (Islas Baleares). We sat down and a lovely girl came to explain us how everything works with the Menu and how to order (btw, the font of the ordering paper is just not the right one, you can not read it good). We tried to order a Spanish wine but the service didn't know what Wine they had... later we realized that there is a special card for wines (nobody told us). Then we tried the wine of the house (the cheapest wine, nothing unusual, in Spain they use this wine to make Sangria, tinto de verano, etc.) Then we decided to order Gin and Tonic (Gin Mare). Nobody took care of preparing a good Gin and Tonic. They gave us a good amount of Gin, no lemon but lime (and it was not inside). In this point I should also say that I worked 10 years as a waiter in Spain (most part of the times in "Chiringuitos" beach bars if you don't know what a Chiringuito is). Well, let's say the food in those places are not the best quality... that's why I was not expecting so much of this restaurant. Surprising was the fact that the food was worse actually. The "Chipirones" were slightly burned and not the right way of being prepared. We ate 3-4 of them and returned them (nobody ask anything). We told that to the Boss and he said they "buy them" prepared from Spain (thing I am not questioning), but maybe you can buy a good quality also. The "Pan con Alioli" was good, I mean... it is literally bread with """"homemade""" Alioli (tunning a Chovi alioli is not something you can call homemade). We also ordered "Patatas Bravas", not a nice cut (in Spain it is REALLY important, not just the cut or the salsa, also that you as a Bar or Restaurant, need to have a good quality of Patata Brava, it's a MUST). They were tiny (and tiny is big compared to the ones they gave us), and the salsa was a mix of "Salsa brava" that they bought mixed with a little bit of Tabasco and (?)Ketchup(?). I am not sure 100% but what I know is that the consistency was bad, really liquid and it will not stay on the supertiny potatos.

They had also things written in Spanish on the menu like "Caminante que camina.." "Calma, todo llega a su tiempo" etc. The thing here is that they are letter that are missing, the written accent "tú", "Quién", etc.

The whole Drink Menu, from a Spanish point of perspective, needs to be updated. They are drinks like "Sol y Sombra" that in Spain you can't find almost anywhere, just in a small villages maybe. Just really old people drink that.

The Food Menu as I said at the beginning, it's almos impossible to read. With 1000 of different disches (thing that is not good. Everytime you see a menu with a lot of different dishes, run. This is a red flag 100%).

I wanted to say this thing as a critique, for improvement. Something I thought that a German person will understang, and accept or at least will care about it.

We wanted to pay and the Boss came (he was just taking the money and maybe serving 2-3 drinks, but not caring about the service. Thing really common in Spain, also talks really a lot about how good or bad Boss you are, in this case, not nice). He came and ask: "So.. how was, everything good?" And my partner answered with "It was not our taste" and he proceeded to ask why... she explained the whole thing with the Chipirones, well, or tried... because he didn't even let her talk, being rude and saying that he is ordering everything prepared. He didn't ask us to remove something from the amount of money we had to pay "41-42 euros" and said he didn't know we returned the Chipirones. Thing that was imposiible because there were 3 tables.

Seeing the other comments and how he answered... we all know what king of a person he is and how he "never makes" mistakes.

The worst experience and food I ever had in my life.

Pd: Also, this whole thing is not just their fault, also Spain's fault, selling cheap food in Chiringuitos.

It's a "never go" and it should be the same...

Als eingefleischte Spanienfans haben wir uns gefreut eine Tapas Bar mitten in Hanau zu finden. Freudig sind wir gemeinsam mit unseren beiden Kindern an einem Freitagabend eingekehrt. Das Ambiente hätte ich mir für eine Tapas Bar uriger erhofft aber es war OK. Alles sauber und ordentlich. Die Karte gibt 40 Tapas, plus ein paar auf der Tageskarte her. Somit sollte jeder etwas finden. Die Preise klangen für eine Tapas Bar erst einmal in Ordnung, jedoch wurden wir in dieser Hinsicht maßlos enttäuscht. Alle Speisen kamen in kleinen spanischen Tonschälchen von ca. 10cm Durchmesser. Als erstes hatten wir gemischte Oliven mit spanischen Paprikaschoten zu 3,90€ und Alioli mit Brot zu 3,90€. Diese waren im Preis Leistungs Verhältnis noch in Ordnung. Wir staunten nicht schlecht, als unser Käse mit Jamon kam. Es handelte sich um 6 kleine, dünne Käseecken und 4 kleine Stückchen Schinken für 6,50€. Auch die Pimientos de Patron zu 3,80€ waren sehr abgezählt. In Spanien sind wir gewohnt einen größeren Teller zu bekommen und nicht eine solche "Probierpackung" im kleinen Schälchen. Ebenso die Patatas Bravas zu 3,50€ waren unverhältnismäßig teuer. Es waren 12 Stückchen Kartoffeln, die meine Kinder sich gerecht geteilt haben. Die Champions mit Knoblauch und Wein waren mit 3,50€ zwar auch etwas teuer, jedoch im Verhältnis noch in Ordnung. Farblich jedoch hätte Weißwein ihnen besser getan. (Tip an die Küche) Den Abschluss machten die Hähnchen Kroketten zu 5€. Diese waren geschmacklich Top, jedoch mit 1€ pro Stück ebenfalls nicht i.o. Die Getränkepreise reihten sich perfekt in die Speisen ein. 0,2L Fanta für 2,30€ sind doch etwas hoch angesetzt. Insgesamt hatten wir eine Rechnung von 48,60€, was ich für die Menge der Speisen reichlich hoch finde. Satt waren wir danach nicht, jedoch um eine Erfahrung reicher. Versteht mich bitte nicht falsch. Ich gebe gerne Geld für Essen gehen aus aber Preis/Leistung muss stimmen. Und für recht viel Geld nicht satt zu werden ist nicht in Ordnung. Klar kann man grundsätzlich Deutschland preislich nicht mit Spanien vergleichen aber selbst in einer Gasse mitten im Touristenviertel habe ich für Tapas weiniger gezahlt und war satt. Wie gesagt, geschmacklich war es in Ordnung aber wir werden wohl nicht mehr kommen. Schade, haben uns wirklich viel...

Wir hatten schon lange vor, hier einmal einzukehren, und haben es gestern abend dann endlich einmal geschafft. Vor einem Besuch steht immer die Reservierung, da es hier durchaus sehr voll ist. In der heutigen Zeit mit Internet sollte dies online ein Standard sein, leider ist dies nicht überall der Fall. In der heutigen Zeit sollte dies ein Standard-Service sein, den es über all geben sollte. Hier war das absolut kein Problem und hat sehr einfach funktioniert. Parken kann man in den Parkhäusern der Umgebung sehr gut, dadurch ist das Lokal auch gut zu erreichen. Überrascht waren wir von der riesen Auswahl an Tapas, die Bestellung läuft über einen Zettel auf welchem man in seine Auswahl ankreuzt und dann einfach abgibt. So kann man sich sehr einfach seine aktuell Lust zusammenstellen. Fanden wir sehr klasse, man kann sich durch alles durch Probieren und die Portionsgrößen lassen es durchaus zu die Vielfalt auszuprobieren. Wir hatten kalte als auch warme Tapas und konnten an nichts meckern. Die Bedienungen sind auch sehr freundlich und haben uns am Anfang in die Bestellung und das ausfüllen der Liste eingeführt. Wir können dieses Lokal wärmstens empfehlen und werden sicher...
