We have eaten and had smoothies here about 5 times over the 3 weeks we have been in Hanover. The service and freshness of the food is absolutely amazing, we can’t believe it is a chain. The smoothies are all blended fresh to order and the food is all made fresh too. We have just had a mint and ginger tea made fresh with whole ginger and mint leaves rather than a tea bag too we can’t believe it! It’s such a relief to find quick, healthy, and customizable meal options in this city, where most places focus on döner, burgers, or noodles. Dean & David is my go-to: the food is always fresh and full of flavor, with bowls that truly feel nourishing. I especially love that they offer quinoa, and the roasted potatoes are out of this world. My current favorite is the Good Greens salad with changing extras, and I also loved the planted kebab — a perfect summer seasonal. Das Dean&David auf der Lister Meile hat mich leider nicht so überzeugt, wie ich gehofft hatte. Das Konzept von frischen und gesunden Gerichten spricht mich zwar grundsätzlich an, doch das Erlebnis vor Ort blieb hinter meinen Erwartungen zurück.

Zunächst zur Atmosphäre: Der Laden ist modern eingerichtet, aber irgendwie fehlt es an Gemütlichkeit. Die Sitzgelegenheiten wirken eher funktional als einladend, und durch den eher hektischen Betrieb kann es schon mal laut werden – entspannend ist anders.

Die Auswahl an Speisen ist in Ordnung, allerdings finde ich die Preise recht hoch für das, was geboten wird. Ich hatte einen Salat mit Hähnchen bestellt, der geschmacklich zwar okay war, aber nichts Besonderes. Die Portion war eher klein, sodass ich nicht wirklich satt geworden bin, und das Hähnchen war leider etwas trocken. Auch die Wartezeit war länger als erwartet, obwohl es nicht allzu voll war.

Der Service war freundlich, aber eher kühl und wirkte ein wenig gestresst. Zwar wurde ich zügig bedient, doch die Atmosphäre blieb unpersönlich. Wenn ich frische, gesunde Mahlzeiten möchte, gibt es für meinen Geschmack in Hannover bessere Alternativen. Alles in allem war es kein Reinfall, aber für den Preis auch nicht die beste Wahl.
