Good food, but not spectacular

The staff at the restaurant is very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed seating outside under a little tent. However, the food was just average. We were hoping to find some chanterelles on the menu, but were advised that they are currently very expensive and the restaurant does not carry any dishes. We started with a couple of mushroom soups, just regular mushrooms. They were creamy, slightly oversalted, but plentiful. A couple of beers we had were pretty good; a Kostrizer Schwarzvier and Kostrizer Kellerbier; both light and flavorful. For the main course we ordered Heinrich Flammkuchen, which is a sort of German style pizza with chicken and veggies in melted cheese. The crust was thin and crunchy and the dish was ok. We also asked for Gebackenrr camembert, which I thought was going to be baked cheese, but turned out to be a huge cheesestick, heavily breaded… it tasted good, but it was not what I expected. I also asked for a side of mashed potatoes to add to our meal. It was not on the menu, but the chef was able to provide it for us. To be honest, they were a bit watery and not very flavorful. Wir wollten heute 11.05.2022 bei dem schönen Wetter im Ohne Worte etwas essen und trinken. ( 2 Personen). Auf der Außenterrasse befinden sich 4 Tische im Freien und 4 in einem Pavillon für Raucher. Auf der Außenterrasse war ein Tisch besetzt, ein anderer war reserviert. Die anderen beiden Tische waren angekettet, und !!! Verschlossen. Auf Anfrage ob man einen weiteren Tisch aufschließen kann wurde das verneint!!!!! Da wir nicht im überdachten Pavillon ( bei diesem schönen Wetter) sitzen wollten sind wir gegangen. Kein Angebot die Tische aufzuschließen !!!! Ich dachte, das zu Corona Zeiten die Gastronomie so zu leiden hatte das sie jetzt froh wäre wenn wieder Gäste kommen, aber dem scheint nicht so zu sein. Das Restaurant ist für seine gute Küche in Kleefeld bekannt und wir haben dort sehr gerne gegessen auch zu der berühmten Weihnachtszeit mit dem GänseMenü. Aber nach diesem Vorfall werden wir aus Prinzip das Restaurant meiden. Schade Ohne Worte das Ihr wieder Gäste verloren habt.

PS.: das italienische Restaurant Taormina, Kirchröder Str. 95 hat einen schönen Biergarten im Hinterhof (sehr ruhig) und eine tolle Karte..die bessere Alternative, wie wir...

It's a small restaurant. Very calm and not that busy. Mostly for the local people. Wouldn't recommend for the tourists. The food is good and delicious. They could have worked a bit on the Interior but I think the locals don't mind it. The service is friendly...
