I really wanted to love this place, and it got close! Our server was great in spite of a packed and very loud restaurant. But it was super duper loud—I think that was the vibe they were going for but as someone sensitive to noise, it was too much for me.
Also I wanted to love the food, it was beautiful and on paper sounded just my style, but it was WAY WAY WAY TOO SALTY! For the table we started with the burrata, red cabbage, and falafel with hummus. The red cabbage was the home run it! I loved how they took a humble vegetable and elevated it almost beyond recognition. It was super satisfying and a perfect harmony of flavours and textures. The burrata was high quality and very pleasantly matched with a curried squash sauce and Chilis. The falafel was perfectly fried and fresh but salty. The bread was also delicious, a medium dark German bread.
As our mains, most of the rest of the table got the truffle cacio pepe pinsa while I got 2 starters: the falafel and the eggplant. I had ordered before we got the chance to try the falafel starter so I slightly regretted my choice. The eggplant was a roasted eggplant flesh served “tartar” style with a miso ponzu sauce. Again delicious but tooo salty. My husband called it “inedible salty”. It didn’t come with new bread.
Everyone else seemed to enjoy their pinsa. It was light and well risen, l would say a model pinsa.
No beer on tap but my beer in...
Read more2022 summer: Nice environment. Baby friendly. Delicious truffle pizza. Unfortunately the amount of food is very small.
2022 winter: a drink we ordered tasted like water, we told it to the waitress, no any action was taken. Pinsa of the week tasted like nothing, maybe they forgot the seasoning. If you have your birthday, I suggest to go to other restaurant, cause there is a waiter named Denis who was very unfriendly and and rude to us. I will never visit here again.
Update24.11.2022 About the outside drink, as we need to bring our friend to main station, there is a outside drink on the table. We also explained to Denis, he just ignored and gave us a long long face, he didn’t even bring the beer that we ordered. We were group of 7 people, we were all shocked what he has reacted. Maybe he just had a bad night? I’ve worked in restaurants for many years, it definitely not a way to treat your guests. The waiter who served us was super nice and friendly, this is the person you need to have, she made us feel comfortable. ( don’t remember her name)
By the way, It is not bad to have a negative review, but if you don’t improve yourself, that is not good. A couple months ago, I’ve give uuuhmami erstaunt a 5 star review. Now unfortunately due to my birthday dinner, I deducted 4 stars.
Best and...
Read moreThe pinsas we had tasted very good, but a little overpriced for what they were. My partner's pinsa was fine, but mine was a little cold when it arrived. Could be from the cheese (Pinsa Cotto), but still: a Pinsa should be how enough to not go cold just from adding unbaked toppings.
The "Flambierte Ochsenherztomate" itself didn't have much taste. I'm very much into good tomatoes, and the one I had was at the bottom end of the scale with the "tomato taste" comparable to cheap supermarket tomatoes. Maybe I was just unlucky and this was the one tasteless tomato off the basket, but at €12 for this dish, I expect more than this.
We were there on a Saturday evening, and it took over 1h for our main dish (2x Pinsa) to arrive after we had our starter. Two different parties of table neighbours arrived after us and were served sooner. We didn't say anything, and the waitress apologised for the waiting time on her own behalf when she served us. Still, with a waiting time that long it would have been nice to at least give us a heads up when we ordered – or to inform us of the long delay when she served the table next to us (who had arrived 10min after us).
To leave on a positive note: The interior design is very nicely done, with great lighting...
