The good:||1.The rooms were very nice. Good size and very clean. Housekeeping was very nice. The tv was a nice size and not a 13 inch which is common in Europe at many places. ||||2.The food was wonderful! The service was very accomodating. We had gone to the breakfast area for coffee/tea and the ladies there took good care of us even though they weren't quite ready to serve and didn't understand much English at all. The coffeepot was on every morning for us thereafter. ||||3.The beer garden is gorgeous and comfortable. Saturday when we arrived the weather was beautiful and we spent a fe whours just sitting in the beer garden enjoying it. ||||4. The staff was very helpful with translations of the menu and making sure we were happy with our meals and drinks. ||||The bad: ||1.there is no lift/elevator. We were starting our 3 week trip in Germany so we had plenty of luggage. We had to carry it up three flights of stairs. The person on duty at the bar/restaurant offered to help us, but it appeared he was the only one there and we didn't want to take his attention away from his customers. ||2.There is no coffee/tea service in the room but as I stated before, the ladies in the breakfast room accomodated for this. However, according to someone that I never saw working you are not supposed to go thru the door by the banquet room. He was very rude about it actually as it was raining outside and he told us we would not be accessing the restaurant through that door any longer and shut it in our face. We walked all the way around the building outside in the rain to the breakfast room, got our coffee/tea and went to the smoking lounge like we did every morning prior to that. When we finished and were ready to go back up, we still went to the door by the banquet room, it was locked but another staff member heard us and came and unlocked the door for us. There is a sign on the door that the mystery man in the red parka who shut the door in our face pointed out, it's in German and we couldn't read it. ||3. there is no laundry service but we had talked with the manager the last night of our stay and she was receptive to the suggestion to include it. ||4. There are separate payment systems for the restaurant and the hotel so you cannot charge to your room. For those of us that turn in expense reports, this is more work. ||5. the doors in the hallway shut hard and loud. I was always afraid of disturbing someone. ||||If we were back in Heppenheim again with less luggage, we would still stay here. It's more a restaurant than a hotel but the staff is great with the exception of the mystery man in the red parka. Who the...

Read moreStayed a weekend in January 2020. I really liked this hotel. Having stayed in ALOT of hotels this one and the package we had was Superb! ||Great Points|- Big Room, much bigger than most|- Super Quite |- All the Staff were polite, competent and answered any and all questions in a friendly manner.|- Location is perfect to get to old town but convenient to easily get to|- breakfast was very good. Fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, large assortment of cheese, bean-to-cup coffee, many cold cut meats, breads, yogurt. Almost perfect.|- wifi stong and consistent |- room modern and nice/ clean.|- free parking |- superb restaurant |- superb beer||Points for the hotel to review|- maybe a kettle in the room for coffee and tea|- bedding was traditional German--sheet, comforter but spartan. To kick it up to the next level they should add a flat sheet and down comforters.|- add sekt to your breakfast since you have your own brand. Cost would be minimal, result would be priceless.||All in all, loved the place! Will be back and can safely say Halber Mond and Heppenheim are a best...
