I recently discovered the Seespitz restaurant while searching for a parking spot to reach the beautiful bay on the promenade of Lake Ammersee in the town of Herrsching. Situated right at the entrance to the promenade, it offers a stunning view of the lake and the anchored boats swaying gently in the waves, with breathtaking sunsets awaiting their owners for new adventures. It’s a peaceful destination that gives a holiday vibe even to the locals.

As you enter the terrace, you’re greeted by a discreet sign kindly asking you to wait until a staff member leads you to your desired table, all while you enjoy the splendid view of the bay. The restaurant features a large terrace shaded by a big tree, leading to a marginal terrace where I was seated, which wraps around the interior of the restaurant.

Once seated, I immediately felt the splendor of the place and the tranquility it offers, enveloped in the kindness of the staff, who were nothing short of exceptional. I was given three minutes to get familiar with the surroundings, peruse the menu, and decide on my food and drink choices. After making my decision, I was promptly informed of the 15-20 minute preparation time for my meal, and my drink arrived within a minute.

I used this time to savor the view and observe the high-quality surroundings of this place. The food arrived on time, and it was evident that the chef knew his craft, both in the presentation and the delicious taste. During my recent three-day stay at the Schlosshotel Velden, I had the pleasure of enjoying several exquisite four-course meals at Seespitz. Leider enttäuschend

Wir waren zuerst begeistert von der Lage.. Die Vorspeisen waren sehr lecker und sehr schön angerichtet.

Nach einiger Zeit kam dann die Sonne und es wurde über Mittag sehr heiß. Wir hatten höflich darum gebeten den großen Sonnenschirm zu öffnen. Zuerst hieß es, dass man den Kollegen fragen muss, weil man es alleine nicht schaffe. Leider passierte dann gute 15 Minuten nichts mehr und es wurde immer heißer. Nochmal baten wir höflich darum den Sonnenschirm doch bitte zu öffnen. Die arrogante Antwort des Obers: Er wird den Schirm nicht aufmachen. Wir können uns ja umsetzen. Schließlich seien das die einzigen Plätze in der Sonne.

Also um nicht unter der prallen Mittagssonne dahin zu schmelzen und sich noch einen Sonnenstich zu holen, zogen wir auf einen anderen Tisch im Schatten um. Natürlich wurde einem dabei nicht geholfen die Getränke und das Besteck mit rüber zu nehmen. Und der ursprünglich schöne Platz mit direktem Blick auf den See war natürlich auch weg. Dafür fährt man 70km!

Dann kam die Hauptspeise. Diese wurde einem nicht direkt serviert sondern einfach auf den Tisch abgestellt. Ohne Hinweis darauf dass die Teller sehr heiß sind, hat man sich dann die Finger dabei verbrannt um sich seinen Teller zu holen. Kein toller Service.

Die Hauptspeisen waren mittelmäßig

Das Patty vom Burger war viel zu fest gepresst und dadurch extrem trocken.

Die Gemüse Spaghetti waren extrem Karotten lastig. Man sah nur Karotten auf dem Teller. Beim Hin und Her suchen fand man ein wenig Zucchinis, einen Löffel voll Kichererbsen und 4 mini kleine Avocado Stückchen. Die Karotten waren viel zu grob geschnitten und noch viel zu hart, die Zucchinis waren okay. Geschmacklich war es eher fade gewürzt. Schade, denn Gemüse Spaghetti können so gut schmecken wenn das Gemüse richtig gegart und vor allem gut gewürzt sind.

FAZIT Vorspeise hervorragend Hauptspeise mittelmäßig Service okay aber auch nicht lobenswert

Wir werden bestimmt wieder nach Herrsching fahren aber ganz bestimmt nicht dort einkehren.

Unsere Nachspeisen und Kaffee haben wir uns dann woanders schmecken lassen. Dort wurden wir sehr freundlich bedient.

Ach ja und noch ein Tipp Auf den Toiletten sollte es Seife zum Hände waschen geben! Der Spender war total leer. Ist nicht besonders hygienisch nach der Toilette sich ohne Seife die Hände waschen zu müssen um danach wieder am...
