Zwischendurch-Bar — Restaurant in Hildesheim

On the 31st of March 2024, two companions and I went out for a drink and conversation about our lives. What happened at the bar left me utterly dismayed, encountering the most blatant racism and discrimination I've ever witnessed in Germany. As we stepped into the establishment, a visibly uncomfortable tattooed man fixed us with a hostile stare. Despite our attempts to enjoy a simple beer and conversation, things took a drastic turn when one of my friends accidentally knocked over a glass while refilling his drink. Despite paying for the damage and offering sincere apologies, the man who had been eyeing us approached the bartender and, without explanation, demanded our expulsion. When my friend questioned the unjust treatment, the man violently grabbed him by the neck and threw him to the ground, nearly causing him serious injury. What appalled me even more was the deafening silence from both the bartender and other patrons, failing to condemn such abhorrent behavior. This egregious display of racism against black individuals is profoundly troubling and calls for swift action and condemnation. May we all strive for a society where such injustices are eradicated, and humanity prevails...
