Taverna Nikopolis — Restaurant in Hohen Neuendorf

Don't try this place if you are a solo diner - you will be ignored! I went there last Friday evening at 5pm. Place was still bit quiet but not empty. I was told that all good tables were "reserved" (although none had a RESERVED sign on them) and I was shown a table next to a ...coat rack. The silverware, the ouzo and my drink order came promptly, the order was taken, the menu taken away. First arrived the house salad. I was half way through with it when my dish was served: gyros, lamb and pork chop with zaziki and boiled potatoes. It was OK, although nothing to rave about. (I know Greece and Greek food is not strange to me) I asked my waiter to bring the menu again, considering a glass (or two) of wine or a cocktail and a dessert. Menu came, waiter left. After I finished my meal, I was sitting there watching the bar (die Theke) which was directly across my table. The wait staff gathered there on several occasions chatting cheerfully and passing the time. They saw me sitting at my table with my empty glasses and a menu for at least 15 minutes, and ... ignored me. I put my empty drink glass (it was a grog) and the empty ouzo glass on the corner of the table for better visibility. Nothing. They looked at me as I was not existing. I made an eye contact, and once even waved when I saw they looked at me again, but was unable to get their attention. Finally I put my wallet on the table, making sure it's in a full view. That failed too. Fed up with their customer service I got up, took my purse and my coat and went to my waiter, who also seemed to be their leader, to pay for the meal - mind you, that's not a customary behavior. Waitstaff normally bring the bill and get paid at the table. There was no surprise and no comment why I did so. I mentioned that I was waiting for him to take additional orders since he brought the menu and knew it was my intention. He didn't comment on that, just printed the bill and took my money. I was quite shocked by that behavior, since I wasn't a difficult customer, didn't complain about anything, didn't order the cheapest item from the menu, was properly dressed, behaved pleasantly and spoke a perfect German. I noticed that they did attend others that came in groups or sat at the Stammtisch. Therefore, in conclusion - I don't recommend this restaurant if you are a solo diner. It will not be a enjoyable experience. BTW: when I was leaving more than an hour later, most of the "reserved" tables were still...

Unglaublich und zwar unglaublich schlecht.

Das Nikopolis gibt es schon so lange, gerne haben wir dort reserviert, auch Geburtstage gefeiert und wurden immer höflich bedient. Am Dienstagmittag kam es nicht einmal zur gemeinsamen Vorspeise! Das Geschäft war nicht gut besucht, sodass die Bedienung keineswegs hetzen musste und in keinster Weise Stress aufkam. Ein überaus miesgelaunter, mürrischer Kellner, noch dazu ignorant, dass ich wirklich gerne mal wüsste, was der Chef dazu sagen würde… Wir werden in jedem Fall keinen Fuß mehr in dieses griechische Restaurant setzen. Zurecht! Eine Unverschämtheit sich gegenüber den Gästen so zu verhalten! Ich hoffe, der Chef liest das, da besteht eindeutig Handlungsbedarf. Auf so eine freche Art und Weise mit uns umzugehen, dass wir kein Essen bestellten und die Flucht ergriffen. Da besteht eindeutig Handlungsbedarf, ich persönlich habe das das erste Mal erlebt, dass sich ein Kellner so daneben benimmt. Schade um das Nikopolis, uns als Gäste sind Sie definitiv los. Und viele weitere werden folgen, da hat jemand wohl seinen Beruf verfehlt, das darf in der Gastronomie nicht vorkommen.

Kein einziger Stern von uns, wir werden dort keinen Euro...

Wir besuchten zu dritt dieses griechische Restaurant zur Mittagszeit, planten eine gemütliche Stunde und bekamen schließlich fast 1 Stunde 30 Minuten „Erlebnisgastronomie“. Die Speisekarten durften wir uns selbst organisieren – vermutlich Teil eines innovativen Selbstbedienungskonzepts.

Die Getränke kamen zwar flott, allerdings ohne Unterscheidung zwischen Cola und Cola light – eine Art Blindverkostung, die wir nicht bestellt hatten. Nach 30 Minuten erinnerte sich der Kellner an uns und fragte sicherheitshalber nochmal nach unseren Bestellungen. Das Essen kam dann nach insgesamt 40 Minuten, teils falsch, aber Hunger macht bekanntlich kompromissbereit.

Mein „Thunfischsalat“ bestand zu ca. 80 % Eisbergsalat einem Eier, Thunfisch, Dressing und zwei dekorativen Tomatenschnitzen – Oliven oder andere griechische Akzente suchte man vergeblich. Die beiden Fleischgerichte wirkten wie Tiefkühlware, frischer Geschmack war zumindest nicht der dominante Eindruck. Uso? Fehlanzeige.

Der Kellner schien leicht genervt, wir vermutlich ebenso, und so verabschiedeten wir uns nach knapp 1,5 Stunden. Positiv hervorzuheben: Das Wetter. Strahlender Sonnenschein – leider nicht vom Restaurant zu...
