Ban Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Husum

Affordable and for sure not bad A little restaurant in the north of Germany, offering Thai food. It's cozy and welcoming. The menu is a way to big. I didn't count but for sure you have 200 different options to choose your meal - way too much and it doesn't make it easy. I missed the love in the presentation a lot. And indeed all what we had looked the same, the sauce was pretty similar and unfortunately it was kind of boring. On the positive side was that the vegetables were really good and not too soft, the scampi were brilliant cooked and you felt that the chef is not a bad one - in the range the menu gives him. I am sure they can do way better re cooking, presentation and the final result. Half of staff was caring, half unfortunately not - they sld really think about what they want. We were really happy to discover a place like Ban Thai in Husum. The Penang Curry was incredible and I highly recommend to try it. Not the completely westernised version with red curry and no tanginess at all, but a rather flavourful curry with freshly ground peanuts and lime leaves. The tom kha soup was a bit too sweet for my taste unfortunately, but had plenty of mushrooms. They could offer more vegan options though, as most dishes are vegetarian themselves, but to serve them with Tofu or just without meat is not offered on the menue. Service was...

In meiner Rezension werde ich mehrere Punkte ansprechen. Als aller erstes ist der Internetauftritt eine 5/5, da es sogar eine Beschreibung zu der thailändischen Kultur auf der Webseite gibt. Ich habe dort angerufen und für zwei Personen einen Tisch reserviert, das funktionierte sehr gut. Der erste Eindruck vom Ambiente war "ist ganz nett, aber es ist doch schon in die Jahre gekommen". Die Bedienung überreichte uns zwei Karten, die Recht voll und dadurch leicht unübersichtlich ist, aber durch Bilder der Speisen dies wieder wett macht. Das erste was wir bestellten waren Getränke, die auch sehr schnell gekommen sind. Die Getränke waren zwei große Cola, die in wirklich großen Gläsern kamen. Wir bestellten die Vorspeisenplatte für zwei, die schon fast an Masse für den Abend gereicht hat, aber wir bestellten uns noch jeweils ein Hauptgericht. Als Hauptgericht kam dann für jeden ausgezeichnet schmeckendes thailändisches Curry, was in der Masse für uns zuviel war, aber was die Bedienung für Zuhause eingepackt hat. Die Bedienungen waren immer freundlich und sogar kulturelle fragen würden sehr gerne beantwortet.

Mein Fazit: Ich fühlte mich in diesem Restaurant sehr wohl und man bekommt dort fast im Original thailändische Speisen (die Schärfe wurde angepasst). Ich werde auf jeden Fall...
