L'Osteria Jena Leutragraben — Restaurant in Jena

We did a reservation, so it was fine to have a table. We waited 20 min for the pizza, which it's fine considering that there were a lot of people in the restaurant. The pizza was really tasty, highly recommended, however, I think it was quite thin.

Then, we ordered a tiramisu and a piccolo duetto (panacota and other dessert). Here, it was very dissapointing since we waited almost 40 MINUTES for the piccolo duetto...and the worst part, the tiramisu was not brought at any moment. Why they just didn't say they don't have tiramisu? Why to wait so much for a dessert?, even the pizza was quite fast. Anyway, the desserts (no the tiramisu obviously) were also tasty. So the food is really nice, but the time waiting for the desserts was really bad. The time for the pizza and its taste was very good.

Finally, the staff were kind, I think they did a good job. The environment was also very nice, with a nice music selection.

Conclusion: I put 4 stars, but actually it should be 3.5, not because of the food but because of the time waiting for a dessert...

We are huge fans of L’Osteria restaurants. When travelling we always try to fit in a pizza or a Vitello Tonnato…..This restaurant is good in vibe and was completely busy when we visited early Saturday afternoon. The waitress was friendly and efficient even after she was criticized heavily from a colleague when waiting the table nearby. (This aggressive waiter later dropped a bottle from the tray with glass bouncing on my legs - anyway nothing happened). We ordered Coke Zero and got Coke Light - no big deal!

We were not in a hurry so we enjoyed the waiting time. After finishing 3 cokes and waiting for 1 hour and 10 minutes our pizzas came. They were great as always!!!! Fantastic food!

I am writing this constructively and honestly. As always great food and atmosphere- be careful with more than 1 hour waiting time for pizzas. Avoid waiters criticizing colleagues in front of guests and keep up the good work. We will be back next...

My husband and I come to this restaurant about two or three times a month. 😁😅 It always has a good atmosphere. On weekends, you definitely need to make a reservation, which is very easy, not difficult at all. The furniture is very comfortable for sitting for a long time. The waiters are kind, polite, and professional.
