I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Old Station and I do not say that about just anywhere. I was able to make my reservation through Google the day prior and was easily able to find parking nearby when I showed up. I will admit that when I arrived I was unable to find any host podium, but after checking in through Luca I was able to flag down a waitress to confirm we could eat outside. I wasn't asked if I had a reservation, so I don't think reserving in advance is necessary, but I'm sure it is highly encouraged.
This is definitely one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in Kaiserslautern, and I really wish it were advertised more so that everyone could experience this place. The staff was very friendly to me and they spoke great English. The manager himself checked up on me multiple times throughout my meal, which only further shows this establishment's commitment to customer service.
The menu itself has a wide variety of foods, though gourmet burgers are definitely the foundation of Old Station. They even have an Old Station Burger, which I had and it was very delicious. They bring an assortment of complimentary starters to you before your meal, such as a salad, couscous, potato chips, bread, and sauce for the bread. I was afraid I would fill up on those alone! Yet, the main course was too good to leave uneaten. I even ordered desert, which is not something I usually do anywhere after I've had the main course.
Old Station is definitely well priced, and they even threw in a complimentary Honeydew Melon shot as a thank you (probably for ordering so much, but I could be wrong). I highly recommend going here at least once if you ever find yourself in Kaiserslautern. You'll be missing out...
Read moreOur food came out so quickly, and it was delicious and unique!
This restaurant was the first we found on the way to another event, just by googling. We had about 45 minutes to order, get our food, and pay. The waitress was very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu.
First out came our drinks, and my wine glass was huge and a nice vintage. We were served a unique dipping bread with two different homemade sauces to start off. We ordered hamburgers - their main fare - which come in three sizes. Though my boyfriend didn't enjoy attempting to eat the very tall triple stack Avocado Burger, I ordered a single BBQ and all was fine. The sauce was delicious, and crispy fried onions complimented the tastes. Even better were the sweet potato fries, which were crisp and perfectly-fried. The manager gave us a shot of meloncello or melon vodka after our meal. That was so delicious, I bought a bottle to take home!
All I could think of while there to sum up the meal was "Los Tres Bs" - bonito (attractive and inviting), bueno (delicious!) and barato (reasonably-priced).

Read moreVisited OS yesterday for dinner. The service was excellent. Our waiter (A Bulgarian) checked on us multiple times and removed complete meal plates expediently. The strawberry lemonade was tasty, and the athmosphere in the old station made one feel welcome. The food however was not something that would make me return to this establishment. I had the largest advocado burger (image), but had not advocado. It was commercial and old tasting guacamole. The burger patties were overcooked and dry with no taste. The burger itself cost 18 Euros, but was not even accomponied by fries, which I feel was unfortunate for the cost. I added a "spiegelei" (Fried Egg), which was fully cooked and cost 2.50 Euros which is basically almost a carton of eggs. Another dish that we had was the "Mozarella Schnitzel" (ESCALOPE WITH MOZZARELLA), which was thin and togh. It's a matter of fact, it was so tough, that it had to be cut with a serrated knife.
Usually, I try to give restaurants multiple tries, but on this occasion, it ill be...
