Santos Cocktailbar — Restaurant in Karlsruhe

My daughter and I arrive from San Francisco and planned on staying for 2 nights but ended up staying for 2 months because we found a second home at Hotel Santo. We were treated like Family. After spending our first night, Patrick, the hotel arranged for his hair dresser to cut my daughters hair and even took her to appointment. Not only did give most special attention that very first day, he and everyone of the staff from that day took care of us when we got really bad colds and brought to us hot soups, tea and even hot whiskies. We both felt protected and cared for every day. The amount of care, respect and friendship we were given was truly a once in a life time experience. And on top of that, I must say their breakfast is what you would expect from a five star hotel. The cocktail bar is the best bar anyone could ever imagine. The drinks are awesome. They will even create a special drink just to suit your specific mood or taste!! I must say that our experience at Hotel Santo is one of my most precious and special memories of our life...

The place to be for a Friday or Saturday evening. They provide awesome drinks and can help you when you can't decide. The room is cozy and chilling music is playing. In the back of the room you are allowed to smoke, not in the front. Although the smoke gets also to the front, but it's really not that bad. When someone asks me for a location to grab some drinks in Karlsruhe. They also have a happy hour on Tuesday night, which gets you the drinks for half price off. At this night the place tends to be crowded and you should have a reservation. Everytime I've been there on Tuesday night, there were no seats left. We usually go there for after-work-events. Ich gehe sonst sehr gerne ins Santos aufgrund der vielseitigen Auswahl an Cocktails und auch der Geschmack lässt mich selten im Stich. Aber heute war es einfach kein guter Abend. Ich habe einen Wellness Infusion bestellt, den ich schon öfters bestellt hatte. Der Cocktail war geschmacklich deutlich anders als sonst. Das habe ich zu Bemerken gegeben und wurde auch von einem Kellner danach darauf hingewiesen, dass sie den infused Vodka nicht mehr da hatten und deshalb etwas anderes reingemacht haben. Bezahlen wollte ich bei einer anderen Kellnerin, bei der ich dann sagte, ich hatte den Cocktail zurück gegeben, weil er anders als sonst schmeckte. Statt mir zu glauben, diskutierte sie mit mir, dass das nicht sein könnte, ich würde den Vodka nicht schmecken, der er sei einer der geschmacksneutralsten Spirituosen. Dabei wollte sie meine Bemerkung auch gar nicht richtig anhören, sondern stand gegenüber von mir und schaute mich nur verduzt an. Wenn sie mich doch nicht versteht, dann kann sie auch einfach neben mich kommen. Beleidigt ging sie weg und schickte ihren Kollegen. In diesem Fall hätte ich mir von vornherein Transparenz gewünscht, indem mir gesagt wird, dass heute etwas anderes drin ist als sonst und zudem, dass die Kellnerin nicht mit mir über den Geschmack diskutiert, denn sie selbst hat den Cocktail nicht getrunken und selbst der andere Kellner hat meine Bemerkung bestätigt. In diesem Fall war ich eindeutig im Recht und finde, dass sie nicht in einem unangemessenen Ton mir das hätte ausreden sollen.
