I am surprised by the arrogance of the waitress, or perhaps the owner of this bar, which serves mid-range dishes. It is definitely not a restaurant, more of a bar. In this place, yes, you can bring your dogs, but dogs are treated as befits the culture from which the unpleasant lady most likely comes, i.e. they eat. When one of the customers approached our dog to pet him and did not want to finish because he liked our dog, the disgusted owner started to wave her hand ostentatiously, indicating with her finger that the dog should be moved behind the table by the wall. Dear lady, you can wave your finger like that at your employee in the kitchen, not show us where the dog should sit, because if you let animals in, our dog will sit at our table where it is comfortable. Waving your hand at customers in this way is a sign of complete lack of culture and an illustration of customs straight from the stall. The second unacceptable example of lack of culture is the aggressive reaction of the owner to the fact that we wanted to pay by card. The reaction was unusually aggressive. This is unacceptable, because she did not inform us earlier that for some reason she did not want to issue a receipt and that card payment was frowned upon. She started to wave her hand nonchalantly again, showing a small note stuck to the door where she supposedly wrote in German that they do not accept payment cards. We are tourists and do not speak German. We do not have to. But since she hears that we speak English, she could have guessed that we might have missed the small note with the message in German. After a moment of aggressive responses, she took out the terminal and it turned out that she could accept card payment without a problem. But I did not get a receipt. The service in this bar with a rude owner is at an embarrassing level. Including her fake, glued-on smile. The food is very average considering the high price. I definitely do not...
Read moreIt beats me how this restaurant could get so many positive reviews. When we entered the restaurant, the stench of stale air almost catapulted us out again. As my partner and I were exhausted and hungry we ignored our inner voice that told us to run and got seated in a separate space which was close to filthy. We ordered only starters as we hoped there was not much that could be done wrong. We ordered five dishes: egg plant, gyoza, fried chicken, squid tempura style and fried pork steak. We did not get individual plates and a paper napkin only on request. The squid had a sourish smell and was yellowish and rubber-like. We didn't dare to eat it after the first bite. The egg plant was covered with strange bread crumbs and a greenish powder, probably seaweed powder. Every dish had the same sourish teppanyaki sauce. The only dish close to edible was the karaage, fried chicken thighs. I spare you the details about the men's toilet. In any case, after the starters we paid and ran from this place. We are completely at a loss how this place could be so crowded and how people could be brave enough to eat "Suschi", yes, that's how it was printed in the menu. I think it's a Chinese family business, in general the staff was nice and helpful, but they should keep their fingers off Japanese food, if not any food business. It can only be a matter of time that someone will get food poisoning. And it shows that Germans have no clue whatoever of what they are...
Read moreVisited Kaiseki on a Sunday evening after hearing some good reviews. I was very disappointed. We ordered the Abendmenü A for €28,90. Comes with Miso Suppe, different styles of appetizers and a roll with dessert. We ordered 1 Regenbogenrollen and 1 Königsgewand. The appetizers were very messy and thrown onto a plate cold, accompanied by soggy sweet potato tempura (forget about the crispy batter, this tasted as though it was fried the day before). Few dim sums and more deep fried options, nothing fresh or tasteful (this restaurant is showing more signs of having no ties to Japanese cuisine itself). The rolls were terribly made, soggy rice which made the seaweed leathery and inedible. The Eel was slimy both skin and flesh, it was not properly prepared and the sauces were extremely sweet with no balance of any other flavour, it was poured without any thought all over the rolls and... plate (why?). We had enough, but then we had to eat dessert. Everything came out of a can here (really going to charge for canned syrup fruit) and ice cream was cheap flavorless store bought topped with sandy burnt coconut. Unfortunately the lunch menu looks like a much better option as this dinner was nothing close for a bill over €70...
