Ristorante Portofino — Restaurant in Leipzig

The pizza at Portofino is what I would call a pizza. And maybe it might be even better than some pizzeria in Italy. We got two pizzas with Parma ham, grana and rucola, and one with tuna and onions. Both very tasty. The ham was real ham as well as the grana was real grana. The waiter was very nice, not harassing us every 5 minutes asking if everything was fine... which is something we do appreaciate! The service quite fast but also comfortable.

The atmoshpere is very cozy and comfortable, too. If only I have to say something not-perfect is the mismatching name of the restaurant with the inner decorations. Portofino would make me think of a near-the-sea place, while the decorations are more similar to a country-side trattoria. But it is not a big deal when the pizza is really...

The restaurant has a very nice appearance, and really nice staff. It was a slow night, I called ahead to have pizza ready for take-out. The pizza was done in about 10 minutes (I think, it was done before I got there). It looked amazing and smelled fantastic.

The pizza's crust was nice and the main part was nicely filled with toppings as expected. Ingredients tasted good and fit the pizza well.

Overall the experience in the restaurant was incredible and the food was good. The only thing was, the food was ready about 5-10 minutes earlier than expected so by the time I got home with the pizzas they were starting...

Wir hatten als fünfköpfige Truppe im Portofino reserviert und wurden direkt bei unserer Ankunft zu unserem Tisch geführt. Das Restaurant macht einen angenehmen, familiären und rustikalen Eindruck. Die hölzernen Wände sind mit Bildern und Grünzeug verziert. Die gut gefüllten Speisekarten haben wir recht flott erhalten. Als Getränk gab es bei mir, wie in jeden anderen Etablissement, ein kalt triefendes Bier. Köstlich. An Vorspeisen wurde eine übersichtliche Handvoll von Salaten und Suppen dargeboten. Ich jedoch entschied mich für ein Pizzabrot. Nach zwei Bier und vier Zigaretten Wartezeit bekam ich einen mit Tomatensauce und Kräutern besetzten Teigteppich als Vorkost serviert. Schön, groß, sättigend und lecker. Super. Nach dem Verzehr hat sich der Hungerzorn gelegt und das Gemüt steigt mit jedem Beigetränk. Als Hauptgang bot man Nudeln aller Art, Gratins, Pizzen und und und an. Natürlich gab es auch für die ANDEREN in unserer Gesellschaft vegetarische Speisen zur Auswahl. Das Hauptgericht folgte erneut nach einer Wartezeit bestehend aus tollen Unterhaltungen, Bier, Glimmstängel, Bier, Toilette, Kippe, Bier, Klo, Zigarette und da waaar es schon. Mit Herzenslust schaufelte ich die deliziösen Penne mit Krabben und Shrimps in meinen speicheltropfenden Rachen hinein. Danach wurde mir bewusst weshalb Völlerei eine Sünde ist. Als Selbstbestrafung sahen wir es nur als gerecht an, uns Grappa und Johnny Walker hinter die Binde zu kippen. Mit vollem Magen und vernebelten Sinnen verabschiedeten wir uns mit recht großzügigem Trinkgeld von der überaus freundlichen und geduldigen Bedienung.

Der Abend war entspannt, witzig und herzhaft. Wir werden sicherlich noch einmal vorbeischauen.
