The location is nice and the service was friendly too, but the food was not that great. I had the LAX Flammkuchen and it was very dry and with too little cream. The vegan Lax was put on too early and was also completely dry and almost tasteless. The deep fried Mac and cheese are just stupid in my opinion. Normal Mac and Cheese are awesome. Why deep fry it? The noodles were totally overcooked and everything tasted of fryer fat. Especially when you serve it with fries, who are also deep fried. The Testnest burgers were ok. Comfy café with a very beautiful Interieur. I had a Cappuccino and a vegan chocolate cake and must say, this is the best coffee I had in ages and the cake with some whipped cream, a dream! Die Südbrause war schon immer ein entspannter Spot im Leipziger Süden – coole Bar, gute Drinks, gemütlich versteckt in einer alten Brauseanstalt. Auch das Essen war bisher immer solide.

Aber seit dem Küchenwechsel vor ein paar Monaten spielt die Küche hier auf einem ganz neuen Level. Es gibt jetzt indische Gerichte – und nicht einfach nur Curry, sondern richtig gutes, authentisches Essen mit Herz.

Besonders die Paneer-Gerichte haben’s uns angetan – ob würzig, cremig oder gegrillt: der hausgemachte Käse ist jedes Mal ein Volltreffer. Und dann dieses Ballonbrot! Riesig aufgepufft, außen knusprig, innen fluffig – allein dafür würden wir wiederkommen.

Dazu ein Drink von der Bar (die war ja eh schon immer stark), und der Abend ist gerettet. Ein echter Geheimtipp für alle, die gutes indisches Essen lieben – und Orte...
