Watan Restaurant — Restaurant in Leipzig

A nice Afghani restaurant! I went for dinner and wanted to order Chopan Kebab and Mix Kebab. Unfortunately, they told me that Chopan Kebab and Shishlik Kebab were not available, and therefore they recommended Watani Kebab. So, we ordered Watani Kebab and Mix Kebab.

The order was served in 15 minutes. The taste of the Watani Kebab was good, but the sauces were just average. The portion was also average, and if you eat more, it might be insufficient for you. On the other hand, the taste of the Mix Kebab was just okay, and the portion was the same.

Upon asking, they served one extra free bread (Khubaz), but unfortunately, they don’t have Afghani Naan (Naan-e Roghani). The service was good, and they also accept card payments. I had dinner here the other night and, first of all, this is not a restaurant but an imbiss, there is not even a toilet. The first impact is not positive, there is an intense smell of carpet which does not help the appetite, and it does not give a sense of cleanliness. The menu is illustrated as in all imbiss on a banner placed above the counter and there is no correspondence between the pictures and what you will receive at your table: I ordered lamb with herbs and ate practically only the herbs and those herbs were inedible (it tatsted like tobacco and the dish was black!). As an Afghan customer, I am not satisfied with the behavior of the owner towards me. I have been going to this restaurant regularly but recently I figured out that the owner has a very different and nice approach with Iranian customers but not with me.
