Chigogi — Restaurant in Magdeburg

Love Korean dishes since I've been to Seoul in 2016, missed the food ever since! Chigogi is the first place in MD that offers near authentic dishes so it's a must-try if you dig Korean food! They only opened recently and will likely develop their menu over time, so I'm excited to be part of the journey! The Tteokkbeokki even has fish cake, the sauce is really good and offers the right amount of spiciness! Super yummy and crispy chicken although I agree with an earlier review - it could be a bit more saucy (see 양념치킨 pictures for the sweet&spicey version). Had the Bibimbap recently and it tastes great! There are many ways to do it, depending on the amount and variety of vegetables, the egg topping can be everything from raw (usually served in a sizzling hot pot) to sunny side up. Chiogi's has the basics figured out perfectly, it tastes like the Bibimbap a friend's mom would serve, very homey. The sidedishes you can order (반찬) taste really good, the Kimchi is great! I could go on ☺️ I'll definitely come back as often as my wallet allows it. 100% recommend Chigogi to anyone curious to get a first glimpse into Korean food and definitely to everyone already into it! You won't get anything closer to an authentic taste in or close to Magdeburg. Interior desing is intriguing, staff is very nice! Def. reserve before you go just in case. I recently visited this restaurant with a friend for the first time and was blown away by the amazing ambience and friendly staff. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and promptly seated at a comfortable table.

The bibimbap (prawns), seaweed rolls, Kimchi mandu (fried dumplings) and Korean pancake were all delicious and authentic, with fresh ingredients and flavorful seasoning. I also enjoyed the yuzu drink and strawberry cloud, which were refreshing and paired well with my meal.

For dessert, I tried the mochi with mango and sweet bao buns with sweet bean paste filling, both of which were outstanding. The mochi was soft and chewy with a sweet mango filling, and the bao buns were fluffy with a delicious bean paste filling.

Overall, the service was quick and attentive, and I left feeling satisfied and impressed. The only thing to note is that the restaurant can get super crowded in the late evening, so it's best to reserve a seat on the phone call beforehand.

I would highly recommend this Korean restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. I can't wait to visit again and try more of their menu...

One of the best restaurants I have been to ,so far .The warm, inviting atmosphere with its blend of traditional décor and modern touches made it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was packed with authentic Korean flavors! The kimchi was perfectly fermented, all the main dishes resembled the actual and real flavours.

What really set this experience apart was the exceptional service. Our servers Lara and Söri, were incredibly friendly and attentive. It made our meal so much more enjoyable!
