For our second night in München we decided to go for a Mexican restaurant.

Before I get into my review for our experience at the restaurant I'd like to point out something that I've seen in the poor rating reviews and that is that the food is not authentic Mexican. I think some of the people who visit the place forget that they are not in Mexico and the taste of the food is adapted to the people of the place. Germans are used to potatoes, rice, stews, sausage. As a restaurant owner you want to make money with your food not wait for the 2-3 people that are hoping for an authentic food experience. Now to get back to my review.

We've booked a table in advance as we did not know how crowded the place will be. We were shown to our table by a very kind waitress. We received menus and even though the service was not immediate (there were a couple more tables that were there before us so it seemed fair that the waitress would handle those first) we were happy with the way that the waitress has served us.

For starters we ordered 2 beers and the tapas plate. Sure, the tapas were mostly fried but that wasn't a problem. They were quite tasty. My fiance said that the guac was missing a bit of salt but I felt that the salt from the tortillas and the fries made up for the lack of it.

For main dish I ordered the chimichanga and my fiance ordered the veggie burrito. I noticed that the people from the table next to us had some kind of sauce and I asked the waitress if they had any spicy sauce. She nodded and brought us a homemade spicy sauce and a small bottle of Tabasco. We ate our dishes with the homemade sauce. It was a nice combination of spicy and flavoured, with none of the two being overpowering.

We settled our bill and left with our tummies full and happy with the experience. We read beforehand that the restaurant is a family restaurant and we kinda knew that the service might take a little longer. That's what the beers were for. All in all I can say I recommend the place and I'd definitely visit again.

P. S. I only took a picture of the tapas. I was too hungry when our main...

I recently visited Amigos restaurant in Munich, expecting to satisfy my craving for Mexican food.

Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and far from what I had anticipated. The establishment failed to deliver authentic Mexican flavors, and I felt compelled to share my dissatisfaction.

I ordered a chicken burrito, hoping for a delicious combination of flavors wrapped in a warm tortilla.

However, what I received was a far cry from the Mexican culinary experience. The chicken was clearly pre-frozen and had an unpleasant rubbery texture. To make matters worse, the burrito was filled with an odd assortment of boiled potatoes, kidney beans, carrots, peppers, zucchini, and cheese. The overall dish was overly salty and drowned in an excessive amount of Tex-Mex seasoning.

Visually, the dish appeared somewhat similar to Mexican cuisine, but the taste was drastically off. My disappointment grew to the point where my dining companion and I couldn't even finish half of the burrito.

Considering the rich variety of international cuisines available in Munich, it was disheartening to encounter such a poor representation of Mexican food. I would strongly caution anyone seeking an authentic Mexican dining experience to look elsewhere.

It is my sincere hope that the restaurant takes constructive feedback to heart and strives to improve the quality and authenticity of their Mexican offerings. Until then, I would advise potential patrons to approach this establishment...

Visited Munich and fancied Mexican food. I’ve never been to Mexico so can’t say with 100% certainty that it’s authentic but it is up there with the best Mexican restaurants I’ve had in Scotland.

Our table had vegetable fajitas and chicken fajitas and both were incredible. Generous portions, really good value for money and left really happy. There was also quite a variety of vegetable options for my vegetarian partner, fajitas, burritos etc.

The decor of restaurant and ambiance were fantastic and the staff, who spoke great English were superb. The owner even chatted to us for a few minutes about Scotland and our trip to Munich. I highly recommend this for food, The chicken and veg Fajitas, 2 beers and orange juice was €51ish. I will come back again next time I am in Munich.

I would give it an extra star if possible just for the...
