Small but well curated museum of skeletons and fossils of ancient creatures, including dinosaurs. Entry is free of charge. Ground floor displays vivid reconstructions, the most imposing of which is the mammoth. There are fossils on display behind glass on the walls, and explanatory text next to each display, both in German and English. It's a bit unclear which displays are reconstructions and which are actual bone or fossils. On the third floor there is another exhibit focused on fossilized squids and other sea creatures. Here most of the text is unfortunately only in German.

It is 'old school' in its presentation mode - models, reconstructions, texts, nothing high-techy - which is actually a welcome change. The entrance is free, but most of the texts and explanations are in German. Probably one can enjoy the specimens without them, but they...
Read moreA fantastic archeological collection on 3 levels of large and small fossils. The exhibit is surrounded by the department rooms, so it's a nice blend of academia and museum vibe. I've taken my 4 year old 2ce and we find even the smallest of fossils captivating. A truly worthy and important visit for any kid-at-heart to learn and re-learn about the dinosaurs and early life on earth.
One caveat, the stairs are a bit much when carrying a small person, and I had to leave the stroller...
