Nice ambiente, fair serving sizes and prices, friendly staff!

We did get seats without reservation and could get food off the breakfast menu even around noon (supposedly you can until 5pm). After ordering off the big menu it didn't take long for the food to arrive.

It was very delicious and well presented. Apart from pancakes with mint it all worked very well together, especially the self made jam. Special wishes were respected too.

Halfway through eating we notices a part of the breakfast was missing. After asking the waitress she didn't hesitate to bring it to us right away eventhiugh she wasn't sure if it was really part of the breakfast we ordered (we checked the menu to be sure though). This behavior and general kindness if the waitress is hopefully valued not only by the customers.

To sum it up, very nice stay and we highly recommend it!

Nettes Ambiente, gute Portionen, fairer Preis, freundliche Bedienung!

Wir haben ohne Reservierung einen Platz bekommen und konnten auch gegen Mittag noch Frühstücken (geht anscheinend bis 17 Uhr). Nachdem wir uns etwas aus der großen Speisekarte ausgesucht hatten hat es nicht lange gedauert bis das Essen da war. Das Essen war sehr lecker und sehr schön angerichtet. Mal von der Minze auf dem Pancake abgesehen hat alles sehr gut zueinander gepasst. Die hauseigene Marmelade ist ausgesprochen lecker. Auch auf Sonderwünsche wurde eingegangen. Während dem Essen ist uns aufgefallen dass ein Teil eines Frühstücks fehlt. Als wir die Bedienung darauf aufmerksam machten hat sie uns das sofort gebracht obwohl sie sich nicht sicher schien dass es dazu gehört (wir hatten extra nochmal auf der Karte nachgeschaut). Diese Zuvorkommenheit und allgemeine freundliche Art der Bedienung ist überdurchschnittlich und wird hoffentlich nicht nur von den Gästen wert geschätzt!

to preface, I work in restaurants. Ive managed restaurants for almost 30 years so I have a level of patience and empathy for slower services that most don't have. I "get it" and it takes alot for me to even care to leave reviews when i do have a negative experience. so we came in with 6ppl including our 93 yr old grandmother. it was a treat for her to be with her grandkids and great grandkids. we sat, (I wish I was exaggerating) for literally 60mins with zero attention. no sorry, be right with you, no eye contact, nothing. the only reason we waited was because of grandmother conversation and her enjoyment of our company. but deep down, I was full on distracted by the lack of service and even asked 3 times, very politely to be served...it was beyond my comprehension as a normal adult. literally 2 other tables in and out while we waited for any acknowledgements. after all was said and done, zero service, zero attention, we were simply in the way, and when the food finally arrived 90mins later, terrible. Just terrible and did not sit well at all. 200 euros later, (I still don't know for what), it was simply the worst experience and food I have ever been subjected to. locals are maybe treated differently, but as a tourist, don't go!! offensively awful...

Upon visiting the Backspielhaus in Munich, the atmosphere immediately stood out – it exudes a cosy and beautiful ambience that sets the scene for a delightful dining experience. However, the warmth of the surroundings didn't quite extend to the service. Staff members seemed rushed and lacked the friendliness you'd hope for in such a charming setting, even getting so far to get the order wrong, which was a bit of a letdown.

When it comes to the food, while the quality is undeniable with good flavors that tantalize your palate, the portion sizes don't quite match up with the price point; expect to pay between 20-30€ per person. While the cost could be overlooked if the servings were more substantial, they land on the smaller side, leaving room for improvement in the value department.

Drinks didn't help the case for affordability, with a staggering 7,5€ price tag for just 0,4l of Limonade. It's a steep ask that might make you think twice before quenching your thirst.
