Café Erika! ☕️ On snowy days like today there’s nothing better you can do than find a proper place to enjoy a good coffee and nice cake. We found Café Erika to be a good candidate! The place was full but we were lucky as always to find our spot. There’s a backyard where you can sit on warm days, so you might want to check this one out in the summer! We ordered after explicitly asking for the menu because it was forgotten to give us one. Opting for the peanut butter cheese cake and a smoothie of the week was just the best decision and combination; the cake had a solid chocolate topping that covered a creamy filling made of peanut butter and fresh cheesy cream. Just like a delicious creamy Snickers. The combination with the pure green smoothie with avocado 🥑 and no added sugars helped intensify the cakes’ taste.... A perfect duo. The cafeteria has a diaper changing table and a newspaper/book angle, so you should be all set. The prices were really honest so that the place left us with a full stomach and really positively impressed! ❗️ Next time we will definitely try the “French press coffee” that comes with an...
Read moreThis was a pleasant, though unexpected find in this area. I've lived in this borough, on and off for years, and I don't think I've ever been in this street. I saw a mention of Cafe Erika in a Google search and decided to stop by for coffee and cake. The coffee was good, the owner friendly, and the cake - while not the best vegan cake I've ever eaten - was tasty. The cafe is also great for vegetarians and, to a slightly lesser extent, vegans. There's a really cute "Hinterhof" area, which we liked the look of so much, we reserved a table for breakfast for the next weekend. If you fancy a leisurely breakfast, this is a great option. I've seen others point out that service is slow - ah jaysis, go to McDonald's if you want your food in seconds. The food here is clearly freshly prepared and it's a small place, so things can take a little longer, but that's fine, because the surroundings are nice and you can just relax and read a book or a paper while you wait. All in all, probably one of the nicest independent cafes in...
Read moreThis is a very cute atmospheric cafe with a good selection of food for vegetarians.
I came here to work on my laptop and have some coffee. The coffee was slightly above average, but there was a large table in the corner for people wanting to work on their laptops.
While there, I had some cake that was actually quite good. Unfortunately, lunch was already sold out so I wasn't able to try the food. Though, if it was already sold out, must be good. I'll have to come back and try it.
The staff was quite nice, though the stress of overloaded customers seems to be a slight problem. Either way, O felt the cafe was homey and that the owner cared about the food. Which is a nice thing to see.
I'll come back for the atmosphere and plan ahead to have...
