This was my third year attending, and unfortunately, the organization during the parade was an absolute disaster. We couldn’t move, and while I understand the women managing the stalls were trying to protect their space, it got out of hand: they were pushing people—hard—not just a light shove, and shouting at visitors. It didn’t happen to us personally, but we saw it happen more than once.

As for the staff in charge, they blocked the parade area with a red and white tape, but everyone was stepping over it, and even the staff didn’t seem to know whether it was allowed or not.

The heat was intense—as expected—but they did absolutely nothing to mitigate it.

On to the food: there’s decent variety, but if you’re celiac, forget it—there are no real gluten-free options.

Rides were, as always, perfectly fine. Bathrooms were clean throughout, which was a plus. But the tents were unbearable with the heat.

Regarding service inside the tents: we understand they have a system, but if you want to drink anything other than beer, forget it until 2 PM (at least on the first day). So if you’re not drinking beer, or you’re pregnant, you’re out of luck. And with 35°C heat, that’s just… unacceptable.

Last year, my experience on the first day was much better. This year, it was...

I came here because I figured, living in Germany you've got to see and come here at least once in your life! I'm glad I did it because it was quite cool, however I would never return. To me it was just another Carney (a massive one albeit), very expensive and very very very busy. You absolutely have to reserve a beer tent or come at like 10am and either way you cannot get up from your table once you've gotten one or else you won't get another one -so there's no tent hopping. Book your accomodations at least a year in advance - I booked about 3 months out and the only thing I could get that wouldn't break the bank were tents. The tenting experience was cool but it was cold and I think we actually cought a cold hahaa (not blaming Oktoberfest...

My first time at Wiesn! Had a good time despite rainy weather! Took train, then walked. Follow the crowd!Wide variety of food. Fair rides. Beer, of course! Well organized! There are limitations on size of purse! You may be asked to open your purse/bag when entering and when going in tents. Each tent is decorated differently. Each tent has restrooms. Overall a...
