Café Konditorei Kustermann — Restaurant in Munich

I went to this Café three days in a row and ordered the exactly same thing, a dirty chai with oat milk, from Wednesday to Friday. The first two days, the employee who was preparing the drink was a guy very nice und sympathisch, as well as the other employees of the day. On Friday, all the employees had changed. The woman who was preparing the drink was not nice and she misunderstood and prepared a chai latte with cow milk. So I went to confirm with her if it was oat milk and she confirmed that it was cow milk indeed. Also, she was rude and not nice at all. She didn’t even apologize for her mistake.

The curious fact is that the whole vibe of the Café was different on Friday. The other two days there was a 80s music playing on in the background, on Friday there was no music while I was there.

I just came to this place three days in a row because the first two days were very pleasant. If by chance I would have come there for the first time on Friday, I’d never come back.

So I’m letting this review in order to emphasize and value good employees, which makes all the difference for the customers and for the Café’s vibe.

The cakes taste amazing and I love it. This place was one of my favorites in Munich. Today, I visited with my friend and had coffee and cakes. Total amount of cost was 14.80 Euros and I asked to pay with my card: 15 Euros. The server, tall white male, 40s, looked down on me and said, “Only 20 cents?” and humiliated me. First, he confused our order and took some time to find us. We were sitting just in front of the door. Second, whole conversation was in German language and I treated him with respect. He treated me rude in whole time for some reason. Third, Tip is not obligation in Germany and his attitude was pretty much condescending. Even though I tried to tip him. A mixed review. We were here 3 times for breakfast since it was convenient to where we were staying. The first two visits were great. The food is excellent and service was great the first two times, although the cafe was busy. The third visit, the cafe was chaotic. Long time to be seated, although seats were available, and then ignored by the waiter (who was a different waiter than the first two visits). Once they sat a party of 10 which received the waiter’s undivided attention, we left. It’s typical in smaller places for one person to wait, run food, and bus tables, but when things are spiraling out of control maybe one of the three staff members standing around apparently doing nothing could pitch in.
