Gerners Wirtshaus & Bar — Restaurant in Munich

We absolutely hit the jackpot and had a fantastic evening here. After a brief summer rain, we arrived at the beer garden with a serious appetite. My partner went for the mixed salad, while I opted for the Cordon Bleu.

The salad portion was impressively large – great value for money and a total hit in terms of flavor. My Cordon Bleu was top-tier: high-quality cheese, generous filling, premium ham, and super tender pork. You can taste that they don’t cut corners here. It came with crisp fries, and if I had to nitpick, a small touch of green on the plate – even just for decoration – would’ve rounded it out. But honestly, no big deal.

For dessert, we shared the Kaiserschmarrn – and it was an absolute showstopper. A perfect sweet finish that we both truly enjoyed. The service was warm, attentive, and spot-on from start to finish. The portions were more than fair, and the Kaiserschmarrn was easily enough for two.

the worst experience. I am Korean, and I have traveled to many countries, but I have never experienced this before. I even live in a European country. We ordered free water, and the waiter brought the biggest sparkling water. We asked for a cancellation as soon as she brought the water and she refused. (The water was unopened) The person at the next table said he would help us but made an order mistake. We only ordered 2 main menus, but she ordered 3 main menus from the waiter. I think it could be a matter of error, but there was no apology. We became the object of ridicule. Another customer discriminated against me on the way out after paying. What have we done wrong? We were recently on a short 6 day trip to Munich to visit my brother and his wife. They took us to Gerners on two occasions for dinner. On the 1st night I had the Pork Schnitzel & on the 2nd night I had the Cracklin` Pork. Both were excellent and I would have them both again. My wife had a Grilled Chicken & Potato Salad on the 1st night and the Beef Burger on the 2nd night. Again both dishes were outstanding. The staff were so friendly and helpful as we are not native speakers. Lovely atmosphere on both occasions and we are looking forward to our next visit to my brother and we will certainly be visiting...
